conservitave85, Article IV sec.1 IS a power granted to the federal government in the U.S. Constitution.

It reads:
Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.

Basically, if states refuse to honor the public acts, records and judicial proceedings from other states, the federal government does have the authority to force them to honor them.
I'm going outside with my pipe to kick this around. I may have to renege. My pride hurts just thinking about that.

While I agree that the Feds may have the power to uphold/enforce a states law, (act, etc)on the fore mentioned topic, I still do not believe they have the power to make a separate federal lawblanketing all the states. If Texas is told to uphold the Michigan CPL that is fine and cool with me. On the other hand to force Texas to adopt a Federal CPL law governing the citizens than there is where I have a problem.

Now Lets back up just a cotton pick-in moment. All this falls on the fact of whether or not the Feds or the States even have a right to make CPL laws in the first place. The 2nd is clearly enumerated, and the people of this country have a right to travel freely amongst boarders of all 50 states therefore I see no validity of either the HR 197 bill, nor Article 4, or even the 14th.

This is just my Humble Opinion:I hope no feelings were hurt during this peaceable assembly in debate over whether or not the Feds have the right to trample My frigging States rights. The Right of the People to Keep and Bear Shall not be Infringed. The federal govt. should be applying Article 4 to the 2nd Amendment!
I should be able to carry period, and travel by land, air, or sea from state to state with out question nor permits. Thank you.

:D My right to K & B should be treated as speech, religion, and breathing. No permission, or restriction needed. Just by being born I am entitled to certain unalienable rights, granted by God, and merely Guaranteed by man.
