even going by that my rights have been violated by game wardens, no one outside, no guns in sight, no vehicles clearly visible from road. But since when did that "additional authority" override the constitution?

It does not override the constitution. What it means is if ANY police officer has suspicion or RAS that you have been hunting they can stop you. You can always refuse a search and force them to get a warrant for your vehicle or home. Most people are under this assumption that they have to give consent. If a person falls for the "additional authority" claim they have nobody to blame but themselves. Even with my commercial truck the DMV officer will always ask to look inside the cab, outside of looking for required safety equipment. I never give them permission and they never search.
