I never said that was a bad thing whatsoever. I specifically said I have no issue with tea party folk. (quite the opposite, in fact) The only thing that bothers me is using a historical symbol as a modern political insignia.

Say hypothetically we pro 2A fellas started our own "official" movement. I still don't think it would be right to use the Gadsden, or anything other historical flag/symbol to represent ourself. Flying it is one thing, but using it to define a political group is another. That is just my opinion. I did not intend to get off topic or start an argument.

OK, that makes sense to me now. I fly the Gadsden flag not as a political statement but as a reminder of why and how we are free. Plus it looks good next to the American & Marine flags.

Problem: Parents Flipping me crap about the Rally. "You'll get arrested and they'll take your gun!" That's what they're saying.

3 years ago my father may have said the same thing. And he is a certified gun nut.

He said it at the first Vancouver rally I organized.

He will be their Saturday and will open carry. He now understands.

I can only hope my parents would ever understand anything. My Dad claims to be the biggest gun nut in WA, but yet he makes some of the most Anti-2A comments around.

He doesn't believe in the right to carry. (Extremely Anti OC!)

He doesn't care whether they Regulate & Tax (Or Ban) all Semi-Auto's or not.

He supports a Mag Capacity Limit of 10 rounds.

I highly doubt either of them would ever attend any Pro-2A event.

Sounds like he's a nut alright... ;) My dad isn't that bad although he thinks that when I open carry I'm making myself the first target. He'll probably be there at the rally with me (carrying concealed...)

Major Update on Rally

I have pretty much everything in place.I just received a call from Clint Didier who will be attending also and will speak on 2A issues and where we are headed.Other speakers are Shiram Hadian ,Phil Watson of the SAF ,Dave Workman,Mark Knapp (attorney),sate representative Dave Taylor, and others.
There will be a table for kids with prize bags , balloons and other patriotic goodies.there will other participants such as WA.guns ,south sound Patriots Constitution Party Garrette Loyde King and others that supported us last year. The program will open with Kerry Hooks singing the National Anthem ,the Pledge of allegiance and a veterans tribute and prayer. This is expected to be huge and KIRO has mentioned they were going to cover this event. Attendence could be thousands .

Jeff Hayes (orphan ) will head the security team which we still need some help with.
as we are trying to present an extremley positive image I would ask that long guns be left at home. This is not about what we own ,but a show in mass of support for our 2nd amendment rights.State patrol has requested that if long guns are displayed that they be slung over the back ,muzzle down,no mags and bolt open.Security will also be verifying that this is the case and no one is handle ling weapons.
Also dress appropriately please as it is a positive image of law abiding gun owners we are to portray.

In the heat of the moment the words 'thank you' can often be forgotten.

I want to thank DEROS, Gogo, Dave, Orphan and everyone else that has or will help put this together.

If I were still in the state, I would attend and personally thank everyone but that's not the case. The personal thank you's will have to wait till my next trip in town.

Here's to a successful and non-stressful event that goes as planned.

Good point ,probably don't need obama signs with hitler mustaches etc.
We stand way above hese libs in decorum.they call for NRA members to be drug behind trucks and ,compare us to sex offenders ,well the nation will see we are not what the libs say we are.

Anyone know what kind of media coverage there will be?

Other than deros72 (above) saying KIRO will be there, I haven't heard anything. But when the papers are running announcements of the event, they might-could send coverage as well.

Port Orchard,
I will be in the area on the 19th and will attend if I can figure out how to get there.
Do you need a ride or directions?
Going S on I-5 take exit 105A and follow signs. Sorry, I can't help with transportation. Hope to see you there.

Oh, and parking is usually a problem on Any Given Weekday. If thousands turn up it's going to go beyong "problem" and into "epic" territory. Be prepared to walk for blocks.
