And no its not easy. It makes absolutly no sense! It translates 1 word at a time, replaces it IN ORDER, and doesn't care how it looks or sounds, as long as it is "translated". If you know anything about German (I do) it makes no sense. Don't get me wrong, since I know German and English, I can figure it out, but if it was spoken out loud to me, and not wrighten down so I could sit and study it, I would never get it. German has a different sentance structure, meaning they place there nouns, verbs, ect... in different places than in English. They also have some different words than we do, like we have one word for "the", they have three, but google uses what ever it wants, and not what it should (just an example), so it does not make sence. So long story short, google translate makes absolutely no sense at all. If you were to print anything out and use it, to quote something to someone, and they happen to speak the language your using, they would assume you were retarded.

It all depends. Usually the more "basic" the sentence, the better it is. However, it is not something that you can rely upon and Eastmeyers is correct... yes, one can sound like an idiot. Since posts on OCDO should be in English, you really don't need to worry about it. If you want to see what it looks like to someone who reads and speaks German fluently, try translating a German webpage into English by pasting a webpage address in Google translate. eg. "www.zeit.de"

Back OT... I can't believe the sheriff thinks he can get away with this... it won't last very long until it gets shut down.
