Distasteful open carry

Distasteful open carry varies by opinion, not statute. The law is clear on what is legal and what isn't.

I would find it DISTASTEFUL for someone to carry a tacticooled out AR-15 on his back to do his daily errands. Ammunition tech has come a long way. A nice couple mags of .45acp is MORE than adequate to do the job for 99.9% of self defense situations. If you're thinking you're going to come across an entire squad of thugs in your trip to walmart then by all means pack a rifle in the truck/car/suv whatever with some double cinched gi mags loaded with your choice of ammo.

I don't know about you but I'm worried about late nights walking my dog getting mugged, not ambushed by a squad of ten thugs wearing level three vests.

And LOL at the guy that says a heavy winter coat will stop 5.56mm ammunition. Put the pipe down man. It's an underpenetrating tumbler round, not a freakin cap gun.

Things obviously 'distasteful'... except in the expected presence of MSNBC/CNN new cameras.

Unfortunately distasteful will be the comment of anyone not approving of Open Carry.
And lets face it, dress up or down for the occassion.
Lots of good comments and info, as I'm not one to judge, carry what works for you, kinda hard to set down and have dinner with an ar15 or an ak47 banging around as you cut your steak, But hey if it works for ya so be it.

Now me I'm a little more demure, a small pocket rocket and a small 1911 compact on the side and i'm a happy camper.

I've heard many say wear a button down shirt, nice slacks, no t shirts with the logo" Let god sort them OUT", or wack'm and stackm'.
I figure again its the eye of the beholder that will be yea or nay.
Good luck to us all, we will be needing it
