I am a certified NRA handgun instructor in Wyoming. I also teach concealed carry.
There are no laws - not one word - on the the Wyoming statutes regarding open carry. There is also total preemption, so no city or county can make up a restrictive law.
Open carry is perfectly legal ANYWHERE not prohibited by FEDERAL law, such as Federal property. Private property may post their premisis as off limits.
I carry openly into the county courthouse, library, banks, stores and even the Sheriff's department. I do not carry into the US Post office or the US Forest Service building.
If you run into law enforcement people who do not understand this, you will do well to inform them gently and politely.
The rules are very different for concealed carry.
Be sure to research the state statutes for either carry before you act. Do not rely on the word of anyone alone.
Carry safely, often and everywhere you possibly can. It is that important.
