this time of the year the illegal alien Mexican drug cartels are out in full force with their illegal marijuana growing operations in national forests and state land.

last week there was a huge bust of plants and some illegal alien Mexicans who were manning the grow operation in the los padres national forest.

I decided to go up there last night and hike into an area I heard some rumors about.

after hiking in about 3 miles from the road I spotted a lone man walking away from a clearing area. the man was Hispanic and looked very out of place and I was certain he was a grower.

the only firearm I had was my .357 so I decided to leave the area. as i was leaving i came across some of their gear.

i called in the gps location to the authorities and im certain they will be on it.

One of the few things you have done that I wholeheartedly support.

However, I have to wonder how things would have worked out had you chosen to follow this guy, he noticed, he didn't like it, and he decided to teach you a lesson.

Let me make sure I understand this.

CaPatriot hears about "huge busts" and decides to walk alone into a remote area, three miles on foot. Against Mexican drug cartels: the full-auto boys. With only a .357.

Then, he spots a Hispanic who "looked very out of place". In a national forest in a state where Hispanics are almost as numerous, or perhaps more numerous, than any other race?

And, he is "certain he is a grower"? From how far away? Did the man have the word Grower on the back of his T-shirt? And, why don't we have a photo of this grower from Mr. Cameraman himself. Lets not forget that he himself has stated without reservation that he is the press.

And, then, as he is leaving, he comes across some of their "gear", none of which is identifiable in the photo as having anything to do with growing MJ. And, he gives us one photo, from a distance, not up close.

Credulity would starve if it had to rely for sustenance on this story.

.

Shoot 1 guy .. take his gun .. shoot rest. that's why I laugh when politicians say that they are trying to keep "oooo dangerous" guns out of our hands. We can get them ~ 'cause they have 'em. I think the boston bombers proved this point.

I support the legalization of drugs but.......these grow operations are very bad. They are almost always run by illegal aliens hired by the Mexican drug cartels. They are environmentally destructive and terrible. They use all kinds of chemicals and they pour gasoline into rivers and dump oil and other chemicals into rivers. Plus, they steal water from rivers and other sources. They also illegally poach game while at the sites.

The national forests and reserves are supposed to be for wildlife and American citizens to value and cherish their own lands. Not for murderous illegal aliens to grow drugs and make huge profits while destroying the land and killing people.

These grow operations are popping up everywhere and they hardly get any media attention and law enforcement catches probably 5% of them.

Gee, deja vu all over again

T Mart sounds like a retail outlet, part of the Thugs'R'Us family of stores.

I support decriminalizing marijuana, but through the proper legal channels. You did the right thing. If you didn't call in that location, you may have been in the crosshairs of some DEA or local drug task force already working that grow-op and have gotten scooped up as an armed prime suspect.

I have a feeling the authorities were already scoping the location I was at. I know that area well because I grew up very close to it and used to go shooting and hunting with my dad in the area when I was young. I found the grow spot pretty easily but I had to hike 3 miles in.

In all the time I have spent in the back country there I rarely ever see anyone else and if I do they are either hunters or hikers....not lone Hispanic males.

I really cant figure out how these drug growers even get away with their activities because if someone truly wanted to bust them all they have to do is hike in the area...like I did.

Personally I think the local authorities are being bribed or threatened or both.

These grow operations are springing up all over California. There are numerous reports by hikers in the eastern sierras around Mt whitney area coming across fields. I guess many people who don't support criminalization will just keep going but I just cant allow illegal alien Mexican drug cartels to operate freely in MY country and on MY protected land.

lol@ this thread.

+1 And, LOL even harder at the OPer.

He declares that he came across a grow operation (cop lingo), saw a hispanic man, and later some sort of gear and boxes. But, didn't happen to get any actual photographs of cultivation. So, my question is, how on earth did CaPatriotismThief convince himself he discovered a cultivation?

Oh! Wait! Those sneaky Mexican cartels! They're growing scrub brush! Right in a national park! Right under everyone's noses!

Pretty much. Who knows what the "gear" was intended for... could be something illegal. But I'll tell you, there ain't no "grow op" anywhere in the vicinity of that photo.

Hey! I know! Lets speculate! And, then use those speculations as the point for jumping to conclusions! I'll go first.

I read on an internet forum where a self-described sooper-patriot and embodiment of the press heard a rumor about some illegal drugs being cultivated. Went there. Took a photo. And, then went racing back to his computer to tell everybody.

But, I'll bet he's so hard up for attention, that he invented most of it, and probably snagged the photo off the internet. All, so he could have something to tell and receive congratulations from readers.

No. I'll bet he planted the "gear" and took the photo. And, made up the rest. But, why?

Oh, I know. It was probably his cultivation. He got word that a confidential informant had snitched on him, so he "reported" his own cultivation to throw the cops off. Sneaky devil.

I didn't see any plants but they tend to be hidden. I wonder how you would know that there were no plants anywhere near THAT photo ?

LOL!!

Having jumped to conclusions himself in the OP, CaPatriot is now demanding to know the foundation of another's certainty?

Bahahahahahahahahahaaa!!!!!

I've got it!

The rumor he heard was that the cops were going to bust up another cultivation, so he jumped on his bicycle and went there to video the cops! All to provide citizen oversight, of course.
