Butting in on an overheard conversation

While trying to convince them that there was a difference between .22LR and .22WMR I walked over and pointed out the NAA Mini revolvers in stock that one was a .22 and the other a .22WMR with a second cylinder. I have one of those little buggers and love it. The 1-5/8" barrel version is suprisingly accurate and LOUD. It is not my preferred defensive weapon but I would not hesitate one second to use it and expect it to have a lot of effect on a BG.

Some times you have to butt in on a conversation if it is helping the person out...

I just purchased my first gun and I am still learning all the rules and information that I need to know. I have notice that people tell me different things when it pertains to the same thing. It is very good to use the knowledge that you know and inform those who do not so they are not teaching the wrong way to use a gun or bullets. Now I have came across people that do butt in to my conversations and to those people I am very happy to have met them and learned what I have from them. So I say butt in if you must because depending on what the conversation is you may have saved there life.

Only if you will share your secret for diving in to Best Buy and out and paying for it. The last three times that I have tried to buy something from Best Buy I wound up putting it down and walking out. Thank goodness for other stores and on-line shopping that I do not have to ever go back there again. :banghead:

Lol. It's called Chutzpah. It's not bravado, or audacity. Check out the Yiddish connotation, which means you're simply the right person doing the right thing.

I have had to jump in a couple times at my local range.
The "former LEO" sales guy was telling people that they will be arrested if they OC, but don't worry about the posted signs because people will never know unless you need it.

The first part of the statement is false, and the second is illegal.
These were first time gun buyers looking for information.

Heh!

I sympathize with the other IT knowledgeable types here, in any of the non-specialist shops I have to try and shut out the sales chatter and bite my tongue. I have failed a couple of times (and was glad I did) but probably the worst was when the Pentium 4 was the latest CPU on the block and the sales droid was trying to sell a new P4 system to a sixty-something woman as a machine for her to check email, browse the web, etc "Oh yes, when you have a lot of emails you'll definitely be glad you have a Pentium 4..." *eye roll*

Needless to say I set her straight and she asked where else she should go to buy a suitable system. :¬)

On the carry front, 'largest comfortable calibre' is the advice I have always heard (right from years and years ago) and I apply it to both concealed and open, even though I am not a fan of concealed carry, actually. For me that's a 10mm Auto and I'm still thinking about what I'll use as a pistol for those occasions I choose to carry concealed but Springfield Armory's range is getting a lot of my attention.

My fiancée is considering several smaller calibre guns but she's almost exclusively interested in target shooting, not self defence carrying. For now, at any rate.
