I think I Tried fighting a losings battle!!!
Your welcome for the quick reply Mr. Cannon. With my P.R. hat on (marketing is my favorite part of business) it will be easy for public places to engage your cause when it becomes more “main stream” in the eyes of “families with children”. Right now it is such an unknown law – even to lawmakers according to your site. So prodding the business sector to push your cause is going to be a failing attempt for many years. Seems like you would have much more success at attending festivals in a paid booth and handing out flyers or small business type cards that steer the public to your website. Finding complimentary events to your cause. Perhaps Veterans groups; County Fairs; legal days through high schools; Conservation clubs as well. Perhaps engaging legislatures to inform them and pick their brains on how to reach the public directly.
It just seems you will be “hitting your head against the wall” for decades if your approach is to solicit businesses to force a policy on a subject that is so remotely known via negative conversation. Obviously some of your members stayed here and my staff was never approached by a guest and we either never saw your members open carrying or we did and were not worried. Either way, this approach by Mr. Nephew forced a policy that your group now dislikes and most will ban us.
So it ended up in a lose – lose situation. You need a marketing committee to push this cause positively – it might go a lot faster!
