I have been away for awhile... OK... a long while evidently; only to come in and see many have passed on. Peter Nap, Skidmark, Grapeshot...
It reminded me when I was actively participating in their get-together dinners down at Bass Pro in Richmond, and it made me think about my daughter who recently just turned eighteen.

These guys really emboldened me to carry... open, concealed, but carry anywhere where it's legal, carry. It was at one of these dinners where my daughter - then six - wanted to be like the big kids and carry as well; packed with her little toy revolver, she was the hit with the guys I mentioned above. I wish they could see her now.

Her active desire to carry was a direct result from meeting these friends, our involvement with them, their wonderful and sound advice, and their enthusiasm in Jess (my daughter) wanting to be part of the group.

She currently open-carries her Sig Sauer P938 everywhere and plans to possibly pursue a revolver in the future. And of course, has an AR15 on layaway.

To my departed friends, I'm sorry to come back so late and find you have left the building, but your departure is not absent of evidence that your spirit has carried on.

Wow, what a wonderful post! I remember your daughter at one of the dinners! Dale (Grapeshot) got the biggest kick out of her "pink" toy gun. Can't recall exactly where we had dinner, but I'm thinking maybe The Hickory Notch Grill? Anyway, what a memory and a great story......that is so fantastic that she is an advocate for the open carry movement that Peter Nap, Skidmark, Grapeshot and SO many others were involved in with the open carry dinners. So much fun!

It was at the restaurant located at Bass Pro in Richmond. Remember it clearly! Hard to believe it was around 2012 when that occurred!!!

I should also add that she is a state champion in her ladies age group for skeet :)
She shoots a beautiful Bernelli 12g
That is so super cool! Congratulations to your daughter and to you! Oops, you did mention the restaurant at the Bass Pro Shop. I do believe we only had one OC dinner there, nice place!
