I have to agree w/ SFCRetired.

There is definitely a difference betweenIN a vehicle andON a vehicle. Open carry ON a vehicle is just open carry period. The vehicle does not come into play. You are open carrying. Carrying a firearmIN a vehicle would conceal the firearm from the viewer of the vehicle and the operator. This method is what a permit is required for in Alabama.

Carrying a firearmON a vehicle, (scooter, cycle etc.), the firearm would not be concealed from the viewer of the vehicle or operator. This is assuming of course that the person carryingON a vehicle is not concealing the firearm with any article of clothing.

I open carry on a daily basis, in a vehicle, on a vehicle, and on foot.

Know the law, the law is your friend, and the same principle applies to both the law and open carry, use it or lose it.

Open or not

So we have heard in out open concealed in the same post.

I am really wanting to know because I do not have a permit. It seems to me that if it is out in the open on a motorcycle it is not concealed and therefore for an officer to say I have a concealed weapon I just might be forced to asked, What weapon?

How about a holster mounted on the bike? Anyone have information about this. If so how would you transfer it to your person?

Short answer: Get a permit or get a lawyer.

Long answer:
Section 13A-11-73 said:
License to carry pistol in vehicle or concealed on person - Required.

No person shall carry a pistol in any vehicle or concealed on or about his person, except on his land, in his own abode or fixed place of business, without a license therefor as hereinafter provided.

Section 13A-1-2 said:
Definitions.

Unless different meanings are expressly specified in subsequent provisions of this title, the following terms shall have the following meanings:
...
(15) VEHICLE. Any "propelled vehicle," as defined in subdivision (9) of Section 13A-8-1. The term includes any propelled device by which any person or property is transported on land, water, or in the air, and includes motor vehicles, motorcycles, motorboats, and aircraft, and any vessel, whether propelled by machinery or not.
Section 13A-8-1 said:
Definitions generally.

The following definitions are applicable in this article unless the context otherwise requires:
...
(9) PROPELLED VEHICLE. Any propelled device in, upon, or by which any person or property is transported on land, water, or in the air, and such term includes motor vehicles, motorcycles, motorboats, aircraft, and any vessel propelled by machinery, whether or not that machinery is the principal source of propulsion.

Seems pretty clear to me that they intend it to include motorcycles (or else why call them out specifically?). As I said above, get a permit, or get a lawyer. If your legal defense is hanging on the definition of a preposition, you better make sure it's a good lawyer. "Depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is."
