Spurlock's, Henderson.

When I went to Spurlock's today to check on their powder supply I noticed that the "no loaded firearms" sign is no longer posted on the door. We seem to be making a dent. Even though they never enforced it, it is good to see it removed...TBG

Over the last few weekends OCed in Vegas several places. My mom is in rehab for the last several weeks recovering from a stroke. Found myself OCing in parts of Las Vegas I have not frequent including the rehab facility with no problems. OCed in Zcoil shoes on Flamingo, PTs on Flamingo. Fry’s Electronics never a problem. Wal-Mart Neighborhood market W Lake Mead Blvd. Trader Joe’s S Decatur Blvd. AutoZone S Jones Blvd. Not one issue.
Talked to a few OCers in Pahrump letting them know about open carry dot org. While in the Pahrump Wal-Mart ran into one of the Front Sight’s instructors that was one of the trainers in the last 4day training I took a few weeks ago. He looked like any other shopper however he and another guy with him both OCing.

I oc'd at the lake today to hang out with a friend of mine in one of the popular coves. There were a lot of people around so I mostly stayed on the boat. I decided I wanted to have a couple of beers and socialize, so I unloaded and stored my pistol on the boat. As I was walking down the shore with my friend, someone came up and told me he didnt appreciate me having my side arm on the beach. Since I had already drank 2 and didnt want to cause a ruckus I just said "Ok. I appreciate that" and left it at that.

You should have asked him why he didn't appreciate it. I would not have left that statement unchallenged, and replied, "this is Nevada; get over it.".

Maybe he was a criminal who had been hoping to cause problems. Naturally, he didn't appreciate one of the victims being armed.

Along the same lines, I also like to say "Welcome to Nevada!" If they are from out of state, it should shut them up. If they are local, it should make them realize that THEY are the weird one for not being armed.

Like I said, I had already had a few beers (which is why I was unarmed) so my brain wasn't operating at normal speed lol

went to the DMV on decature with no issues other than the expected long wait time. Afterwards I went to subway on Nellis and Lake Mead. As I was eating my sandwich I looked up to see a cop walking in the door talking on his radio and looking around the store. Since I was sitting strong side out, I thought "Oh boy, here we go." But much to my surprise he walked right past me to the counter and started ordering a sandwich. I can't say for certain if he saw my pistol or not, but I can say that if he didn't see it then he must have had a lot on his mind distracting him.

Bank of the West on Sahara, and Landry's for lunch nearby. Bank of the West REALLY impressed me. I will be moving my business accounts there. I always thought they were just a business bank, but they have personal accounts, too. No line; a far cry from some business I had to do at Wells Fargo yesterday. I met the branch manager. He knew my friend by name, and will soon know me, too.

Bartender at Landry's noticed the sidearms. After asking about them, she said her husband carries, too, and she wants some classes.

Picked up my lady from the baggage claim at RNO. Nobody really looked twice, and several TSA 'agents' passed me

Love it!

I've dropped off a few folks at LAS a few times at the curb and they were all worried about my oc. I assured them it was legal and there were no issues whatsoever. No doubt plenty of folks saw. Not a word.

On another note: Went to Lucky's Bar on Cimmaron and Farm in NW Vegas. Haven't been there in years. They used to have great food. Now just machines, booze and a smoky environment. No problems with my oc, but I highly doubt I'll be going back anytime soon. Too bad too as their happy hour is 12-7P....but just tooooo smoky.

i usually say to my out-of-state friends..."Welcome to America!" but anyways, I carried at the DMV on Flamingo, i believe they took down the NO GUNS sign, even though it was for concealed. Went ok i guess, i had some poon (can i say that? idk) steal my license plate either at my house or at work. No issues whatsoever at the DMV. Didn't get that golden ticket to the front at the DMV like everyone else reports getting though.

Re: NV OC - how did it go?

Decided to go to PTs for some half priced pizza and two of the regional managers walked in. They both said hello to me as they walked past my strong side. There is NO way they didnt see my pistol, but they haven't said anything to me yet. Im positive they wont either.

Old news however PTs gave one of the OC.org posters a hard time some time back. Many OCers sent e-mails letting them know, no gun no business from us. PTs head of security had a meeting with two of the open carry .org posters and assured us PTs would recognize the 2A and NV state gun laws. We had an Open carry meet up dinner a few weeks later at the PTs that gave the OC.org person a hard time. We had like 18 people open carrying in PTs and had a good time. No problems with PTs since.

Re: NV OC - how did it go?

So....I shouldn't post about places I frequent since we already know they are OC friendly? Either way I had a positive experience.

Not sure how you would have come to that possible conclusion. If I were not interested in hearing about your open carry experience, I would not have started this thread OC how did it go over two years ago with over 112,302 views.
By the statement in you posting “they haven't said anything to me yet.” Led me to believe you were not aware of PTs agreeing to be gun friendly. It was my intent to update you and others who may not have been aware of PTs informing OC.org of being a gun friendly business.

OC'd to the walmart at decature and charleston today to look for 223 but unfortunately they didnt have any. As I walked up to the counter there was a guy about my age looking at knives and the clerk behind the counter says to me "Sir, I have to ask, would you please remove your magazine, place it in your pocket, and if you have one chambered please remove it from battery and place it in your pocket as well."

I said "I beg your pardon?"

He repeated himself and I replied "I will NOT draw my weapon in public"

"It's just for safety. That's all."

I told him it was safer in it's holster and requested his manager. He asked me if it was ok if he finished with the gentleman looking at knives. I agreed and waited, but he kept on trying to make small talk about what kind of gun I had and what kind of ammo I was looking for. All the while giving terrible customer service to the guy looking at knives. I finally said **** it and left. I'll be calling the store manager on monday.
