OC'd into Coastal Farm & Ranch yesterday. One just opened last month in Auburn by the Supermall. I've never been to one so I decided to check it out. They have a lot of interesting things in there. My time there was uneventful with the exception of one man. He wasn't wearing the vest that the rest of the employees had on. He was wearing a black button up shirt tucked into black dress pants with a lanyard around his neck and a clipboard in hand. I'm guessing he was some type of manager.
I was looking at some items when he walked by and out of sight. Then he reappeared and was staring at my extra magazine on my left hip. (The side facing him.) He looked me in the eye with his mouth open and then walked away. Definitely a double take.
Hope he doesn't have that reaction every time he sees a gun. He does work in a farm supply store after all. Kind of an odd location for one though. You'd think that they would have put it in Bonney Lake, Buckley, or Enumclaw.
Also OC'd into Walmart without incident. I saw Sailor Jerry went up. It was $18.64. Now it's $22 something. So much for competetive pricing.

Went and got gas at the Albetsons gas station. Walked in and the clerk asked:

Clerk: Is it loaded?
Me: Yes
Clerk: Scary
Me: Why is it scary?
Clerk: shrugged his shoulders.
bystander: You shouldnt carry a gun if you are loaded!
Me: I am not loaded, my glock is
Bystander: Oh.

I told them both to have a nice day and I walked out.

Went to Home Depot to find a Chain fo my chainsaw, they do not carry the chain I needed. As a matter of fact, I cannot seem to find the chain I need for my Homelite super 2 model number 10696c. Its like it does not exhist. I have a 20" bar, the chain measures out at 21" but I am sure it is stretched. Anyways, got a few strange looks, one biker lady did a double take. It was quite funny.

I might have the chain for that saw.... Or buy one for a Stihl dealer. I think I had the same make/modle saw at one point and I had to buy a Stihl chain. I was going through some stuff and found a 20" chain for my old homelite saw. I don't have the saw anymore but I think I still have the chain. I will look if you want IM me.

Was at Gig Harbor Sportsman's Club this morning promptly at 0945 for the 1000 opening. Glad I got in early; seems like half of Pierce County was waiting for me to finish firing my new Ruger SP101 [thoughts posted here].

No actual open carry today, but if I can find an appropriate holster, I think the Ruger is going to be my default carry piece.

How far from Del's is that, or is it in the same place as Del's used to be? I am not finding a Coastal Farm & Ranch

As the crow flys, it's about 700m from Del's. Go North on W Valley, turn right on 15th SW. Turn Left on Supermall Way. It will be on your left behind the Car Wash and Burger King. It's the old Walmart building.

Got a bite to eat at the Commons, mall, in Federal Way.

Was siting down eating with a friend and a FWPD + about 4 mall security show up. The officer says hello to us and then proceeds to watch us eat our meal. Then we go for a short walk in the mall and are followed around by our fans.

We exited the mall and were followed clear out into the entry way and were watched while we walked through the parking lot.

I have been attending the Babe Ruth regional tournament to watch my good friends son attempt to earn a spot to the World Series. It's being held at Kent Memorial park at the Art Wright ballpark and there is an admission fee to watch the games from the bleachers. Thursday afternoon I headed to the park and bought a 4 day tournament pass. Later that night I came back to watch the ballgame at 8pm and had several looks and the infamous comment under someone's breath "he has a gun'. Enjoyed the game and never had any comments.

Friday the game was at 8 as well but we went and watched some of the other games. During the afternoon a gentleman commented upon entry 'did you know you are showing?'. So I replied that I did and that open carry is legal in the state of Washington. He seemed genuinely curious so we had a conversation about OC, the Seattle parks lawsuit and guns. I introduced myself and he as well, it turns out that he is the retired chief of Boeing's security operations and the tournament director for the Babe Ruth regional. He shook my hand and thanked me and everyone on this board for what we do for our rights.

Both Friday and Saturday I had many great discussions about OC with many of the parents in the stands from many states around the Northwest.

Generally mall administrators/owners have a no weapons policy. I know that the Commons does. However, most malls have a very poor ability to post this where you could find it with any degree of obviousness. The Commons is on a 8x11 print out on their security/information desk near the movie theater.

I am surprised you weren't just asked to leave. When I go to the mall portion of the commons or the Century theater I conceal so I can enjoy my visit without the mall security hassling me. When I leave the mall or theater I have taken off my coat on the way out. That way I am already leaving and could care less if they request I leave. However, I OC'd in the Target attached to the mall many times without incident.

I haven't posted on this thread for awhile, because I seldom go to places I haven't been before. But yesterday I happened by Wilco in Gig Harbor. I spent 30 to 45 minutes enjoying this relatively new store. They have a great western clothing section, and lots of farm related merchandise. I need a couple of new gates, and they are well stocked with them. As always, not a word was mentioned regarding my OC from staff or customers. As it should be.

Kewl, Thanks for the info.
Looks like Del's is getting competition.

My friend asked me to do a quick check for any no-gun/weapons notices posted at the doors where we came in.

I saw the "No smoking" sign but nothing prohibiting gun/weapons. If asked to leave we would have with no problems except maybe a refund of our meal if it had happened while eating. We were not going to look at every piece of paper posted inside the mall to find something like what you say is over on their security desk.

I've been to the Commons once. I used the east entrance. I remember a No Firearms sign upon entering. This would have been in late 2010/ early 2011. I haven't been back since, though. Things may have changed.

OC'd at the Bonney Lake Walmart last night. I noticed they charged to much for a bottle of rum so I went to the service counter to get my money back. As I was finishing up this guy says to the cashier, "Yeah, you better do what he says! He's got a gun!"
The cashier suddenly notices that I am in fact carrying and says, "Oh, my God!"
I turned to look at Doofus, "I don't carry to intimidate and you are causing unnecessary attention to me and you."
He ignored me and just kept blabbing. He was very excited. "This state is crazy! I've never seen anything like it. People are just strapped everywhere they go!"
He was far to loud for my liking so I collected my groceries and left. He was obviously not an Anti. Just an idiot.
I just don't understand the attraction some people have to being loud and yelling, "Look at me! Look at me! I'm important! Everybody pay attention to me!"
