The way you write this, it sounds like she was not to frantic. What arco station was it? If it was in pirece county, I can inquire about it to see if I can get anymore details.

Had this been me, I may have had to do a sneak n peek.

Getting ready to go to Safeway up here in Bonney Lake to do some quick shopping. I will be OCing

It was in Kent off E Valley Hwy, she was upset but not frantic.

Looking for a chance to be a wannabe cop or "off" someone? Bad berries, do not go looking for troule while armed. It may just find you. Think Trevan Martin in Florida.

The caution you express is warranted.....but not everyone who wants to help their fellow human beings are "wannabe cops" or looking to "off" someone. The first 150 years or so of this country we didn't wait for cops, we helped our fellow humans all on our own, and things turned out better for the most part than they do today when LE are involved.

Me I would have stayed with the female made sure she called the cops and she was safe before leaving.

Also there are major differences in this scenario than Trevan situation, Trevan didn't hold any one at gun point or didn't commit any crime that we know.

I was in the ARCO, she was robbed somewhere else nearby. She was with a male and had expressed she had called the police (I had asked). It is a very busy intersection and part of town. I had no business to be walking around looking for someone nor was there any way I could help her, the crime was complete against her and she was not bleeding or broken.

I cautiously returned to my car, taking an extra look around and went on with my day.

A good day to OC at the Lakewood Towne Center Starbucks

Was OC'ing there today with my Wife, Daughter, an old time Friend and cpgrad08.

We were sitting outside drinking our coffee and passing the time with discussions. Shortly after my Wife and Daughter left a couple walked up asking why we were all armed and if we were off duty police. The three of us let them know that we are simply citizens who prefer to exercise our 2A rights and hope that we would never have to use our sidearms in defense of ourselves or others but just like with a spare time, best to have and never need. The lady made a comment something to the effect of she would hope that if anything were to happen that she would be sitting with us.

So all in all.. a good day to OC today.

Didn't mean to make a judgement call on your actions Nick. Just stating what I might do, glad to know she had someone else with her though and the police were called.

I'm reasonably convinced he committed assault & battery.

Only two people know this and one is dead, I wouldn't convict Zimmerman either on the evidence presented.

First True Negative Expereince OCing

I had a meet up with Lakewood Don today. It went very well today we were at the Starbucks at the Lakewood Town Center. Had a old couple come up to us about are guns and we had a good talk. Afterwards I went to the Safeway to buy some smokes. While I was in line I heard a guy say " that guy has a loaded gun" and went to employee to have them call the police. The Employee told him that open carry was legal in this state and I was doing nothing wrong. I had a chat with the employee we talk about guns for a little bit and I thanked him for knowing the laws. Went I left the store the guy was waiting for me. We said he was going to call the police on me because I was public safety hazard. I calmly tried to explain to him that I was doing nothing wrong. I tried to explain him the laws about open carry but he wouldn't listen. Here somethings he said to me:

I'm a danger to the public and children
This isn't a war zone
I'm not important like Bill Gates to protect myself
I'm not cop.

He then started to yell and point at me yelling "someone call 911 this guy was a loaded gun". I gave up and walked away. I walked back to the Starbucks to get another coffee. There happen to be a Lakewood LEO there. I walked up to him and told him if someone by Safeway flags him down or it comes over the radio a guy with a gun at the Town Center. It was me since I was open carrying. He said " Your not doing anything wrong and I wish more people Open Carried.

Even though the uninformed citizen at Safeway was being a downer, the Safeway employee and the Lakewood LEO actually turned it to a positive event.
Was nice meeting you today.

In the end you did the right thing by walking away. He sounds like one of those people that just can't be reasoned with.
I'm sure he thinks he deserves protection because he is important enough.

Just remember, you can act, and the law will protect you, if there is a felony in progress IN YOUR PRESENCE....

After the fact, leave it to the local police...as the law will no longer protect your actions.

I'm not important like Bill Gates to protect myself, well my kids think I'm even more important than Bill Gates. Because if something were ever to happen to me I seriously doubt Bill would take care of my kids.

I do not want to be a cop, and being prior military since 89, I have seen enough bloodshed to last plenty of life times. Read my profile if you would llike. Do not assume anyone wants to be something they are not or they want to go looking for trouble please. I have friends and family in LE. I would have snuck a peek if the would be bad guys were still around to get a good description to better inform the LEOs. The more info you can give, the better the chances of getting these BGs behind bars. I am here to help when I can, not ignore a threat to my fellow comrads with the chance of one of them to get seriously injured or killed.

I am not saying anyone ignored or did something they should have or not have done, everyone has a right to do as they please in those situations. I am just saying I would have gathered intel and what not to better help with the capture of the BGs. Unarmed, I would still do it.

Went to Allan Yorke Park. In the kids playground, big sign that sais no FIREARMS. I am sure they have not changed it out yet. Had mine and a friends family. We were both OCn. Cops across the street, nothing was ever said. We ate lunch, went across the street to the water so the kids could get cool. Walked past the cops, nadda. Later we even talked to them and they didn't even blink. Talked about our next mission coming up soon. It was a great day.

Yesterday, the wife and I went to the Puyallup Lowes to find a new dishwasher. We talked to an employee in appliance for about a hour, nothing said about my pistol.

Today, the family and I went to Taco Del Mar on Canyon Rd near the Marksman. I saw this dude in his cowboy getup sitting in the resturant. I saw what looked like a semi-auto pistol grip of some kind sticking out of his waist band. I didn't get a chance to talk with the gentleman before he left. A missed connection? Possibly...

I've been OCing here and there around Lakewood, just everyday life as usual. Not as much as I used to since I'm now working graveyard and I usually wear a jacket at night.

Kinda surprised to hear about any sort of interaction at Lakewood Towne Center Safeway, I've been OCing that Safeway for almost 3 years with no interactions at all.

To ad to your points,

I took a sliver out of a coworkers hand, I gave another guy some medical tape to tape up a cut, did that make me a "wannabe doctor"?
I saved many peoples lives at beaches from drowning did that make me a "wannabe lifeguard"?
I have pointed many people to the right areas of the law regarding guns does that make me a "wannabe lawyer"?
I have helped people at car wrecks does that make me a "wannabe paramedic"?
I have educated my kids and others certain matters does that make me a "wannabe teacher"?
I pulled my own teeth out before am I a "wannabe dentist"?
You could go on and on and on........so whats makes any action to protect or be concerned about a fellow human being against other fellow human beings suddenly become a "wannabe cop"?
