Still nothing... WTF??

Well, a cashed check means that they opened the envelope.

Well, more than that. IF they deposited the check, all your paperwork is in order and proof of training is adequate.

After that, it goes to the CIB for a background check which is the bottle neck.

Paul had the process outlined nicely, but I don't remember what thread it was in.

I gave up.......

Momma always told me that when you quit looking for something, that's when it'll show up. So, after finding an empty mailbox today, I'm throwing in the towel. Now I don't have to get all excited tomorrow, since I've quit looking. So, in theory, tomorrow will be the day, right?

Grr.........

Yeah if your upset at the two week mark you might want to think about a prescription for your favorite happy pill...They probably received your mail on the 4th and I believe they had about 20,000 applications at that time. I don't know if I've seen permits in the 5000 range yet so I figure you should start watching your mail in about 4-5 more weeks...good luck

Posted by Brian Jansen of Facebook: 57xx, issued 11/14, received 11/16

So I imagine that they are processing in the 7000's or higher today.

The date your check was cashed isn't necessarily the date your envelope got "picked" out of the pile. I've been doing some "research". The stamp on the back of my check is from U.S. Bank. I went to their website, and the Capitol Square, Madison WI, branch's hours are Mon-Fri, 8-5. Closed on Saturdays. Not sure if they were closed on Friday the 11th (Veterans Day... M&I and several others were closed). The bank stamped my check on Monday the 14th (I mailed it on the 1st). If the bank was closed on Veterans Day, DOJ could've opened my envelope any time between friday & monday (if opened fri-sun, they could not deposit my check until bank opened on monday the 14th). My neighbor put his app in the same mailbox, on the same day. His check was also deposited on the 14th. He used a current UT permit, I used a current FL permit. Neither of us has it yet, but today's mail hasn't arrived yet.

It's funny, the crap you do when you're waiting... and waiting... :)

I had empty mailbox Wednesday. So Thursday, I'm driving home from work. About halfway home, I'm behind this big USPS truck, and it's headed in the direction of my post office. Keep going down the road, and sure enough it keeps on the same path. I'm thinking, man, I bet my envelope/permit is in that truck. Get home, mailbox is empty. USPS is taunting me. They specifically put that truck on my path.

It's funny though. Mine was Issued on Sunday, 11-13 and my number is 52XX. A guy I work with had his issued on Monday 11-14 and his number is 50XX.

I don't know how that happens. He sent a check which cleared his bank before last Weds. I sent a Postal Money Order.

His training was his UT permit, mine was NRA training with afidavit from trainer.

It's kind of odd the difference in numbers.

I bet they're just pulling envelopes out of a stack of 30000 without really adhering to the whole "In the order they were received" business. I just got mine yesterday and I had mine mailed out on the first. My number is 565*. Check cleared on the 14th.

The thing that is bugging me is I mailed mine before 9am on the 1st, sent certified mail with return receipt. They were signed for "received at DOJ on the 3rd. Checks cleared my bank on the 10th. Yet, people who mailed after me, cleared check after me and so on have permits in hand.

I try to be a reasonable/rational person, but this crap doesn't add up. Yeah I know, government doesn't make sense, but WTF???

There, now I am done bitching for today...what really sucks is there is not a fu**ing thing I can do about it!
