Individuals should understand that an Executive Order is more of a stated policy through directive, and not Law.

Congress manufactures, then passes Law, then has the President sign, or if a veto threat is present, Congress may overcome the veto power of the President if there are at least 60 votes.

Bush signing an Executive Order is not in dispute here. The question bearing on this discussion is whether President Obama had anything to with with an already existing Executive Order. Yes, Obama does. And whether President Obama's Affirmation of the Executive Order was in and of itself what facilitated the discovery, and assassination of Bin laden. Yes, it is. The reason: if President Obama decided to not engage in an Affirmation of the Executive Order, and opted to either dispose of, or alter the Executive order in such a way that would render the effectiveness of the Executive Order, such as 'eclusions', more specifically, the exclusion of assassinations, then the assassination of Bin Laden could not, and would not be carried out by military officials.

President Obama has two options with regard to maintaining the Executive Order. Obama can, 1) directly, officially affirm the Executive Order of prior presidents, or 2) indirectly, unofficially allowing (indirect affirmation) the Executive Order to stand. Both forms of 'affirmation' are Affirmation of the Executive Order.

Telling me to "bring it up a few notches in the linguistic department" is certainly laughable. Particularly from you.

You have backed yourself into more corners with your mouth than you could ever walk out of. I am specifically referring to your abhorrent grammar, and unintelligible ramblings in your posts.

Don't you mean my fingers? We aren't engaged in a verbal conversation.

I assumed you understand what Linguistics is, I am wrong. Linguistics is a rather general term, and non-specific to any particular language. I am sure you already knew that.

The absolute, finite point to this exchange, is that you do not understand how military operations work.

I know where they start, and where they end - the President of the United States.

You have this gun-ho image of Obama screaming into a microphone to "shoot the bastard", when I promise you no such exchange ever took place. Somewhere, once upon a time, someone sure did come to Obamas office, and ask "Do we have permission to enter Pakistan to 'pursue' bin Laden?". Once this activity was authorized, the request to terminate the target was not mandatory. It was not likely that they even had confirmed knowledge of bin Ladens presence at the compound prior to their arrival.

It's "gung ho," Mr. Linguist. LOL, so you admit that President Obama gave the order to enter Pakistan. But you also assert that President Obama didn't order anything.

I will let our interaction speak for itself.

These operations move fast, and while I am willing to concede that this operation and its success did occur on Obamas "watch", he had as much to do with this operations success and it's in depth decision making as him wiping his ass creates changes in the gulf stream.

I just wanted to quote this.

You need to grow up Beretta and learn to think like a big girl now. There is a distinct difference between giving the "green light" to infiltrate a countries borders, and actually ordering the termination of the target. The majority of the operation, up to, and likely including the order to engage, probably came from localized or senior military leaders.

If you are either not able, or willing to realize that the "green light" was the only way that military personel could enter Pakistan, and assassinate Bin Laden, then I don't know what more to say.

Statements that have words such as "likely" are nothing more than assumptions.

These operations call for seasoned and experienced military operatives and iron-jawed leaders who have had their elbows in the ****. Their ability to do their job, and the speed and professionalism with which they do it, has very little to do with your Presidential heart-throb.

So why don't you stop trying to gloat about your imbecilic mouth-breathing President who gives you "free" health care being some major player in this operation.

It is both disgusting, and reprehensible in light of the sacrifices and valor the DEVGRU unit has displayed in taking bin Laden down.

You really should be utterly ashamed of yourself.

I see no shame in clarifying the issue being discussed. People should understand how our Government works, who is in charge, and who receives and carries out the orders.

Also, "Presidential" is not what President Obama is. He is not a candidate, or acting in any particular way, so as to reference him as "Presidential." "Presidential" relates to, or is related to the President - 'it' is not 'the' President.

"Holder also said the team that carried out the raid had been trained to take bin Laden alive if he was willing to surrender. "It was a kill-or-capture mission," he said. "He made no attempt to surrender.""

I am updating this from a previous post where I included the mission as being quoted a "kill" mission. Either way, there were orders from the top, obviously - that's where orders should come from, the top.

Tripe semantics on your behalf. To distinguish your written commentary from your spoken word is proof you give one more significant value than the other.

I assumed you understand what Linguistics is, I am wrong. Linguistics is a rather general term, and non-specific to any particular language. I am sure you already knew that.

Well aware.

I do realize you will reach and grasp at any straw you can get your pudgy fingers on in our conversation though. :D

I know where they start, and where they end - the President of the United States.

Wow. COMMENTS REMOVED BY ADMINISTRATOR: Personal attack / inappropriate.

It's "gung ho," Mr. Linguist.

It's "notched", Mrs. Linguist, not "knotched".

I refrained from pointing that out in your previous post just so you would hang yourself.

Oh, by the way, it's "Gung-Ho", not "gung ho".

If you are going to try state your superiority, you really should make sure you're correct first.

LOL, so you admit that President Obama gave the order to enter Pakistan. But you also assert that President Obama didn't order anything.

Further proof you are an idiot.

The President did not hold a meeting and say, "Ok guys here is the plan, let's go into Pakistan!".

Rather, some intel came up through the chain of command, and they simply said, "So can we go? Yay, or Nay Mr. President?". The specifics after considering the full ramifications on his image were likely the only considering factors.

I will let our interaction speak for itself.

Sure Beretta, you can "kuh-notch" this one up to your "gung ho" liberal attitude.

I just wanted to quote this.

Great! Cause its the only thing he did.

If you are either not able, or willing to realize that the "green light" was the only way that military personel could enter Pakistan, and assassinate Bin Laden, then I don't know what more to say.

If you're too stupid to realize a "green light" is not the planning, execution, and on-the-fly decision making process that made it happen, welp, here is your foam helmet.

Statements that have words such as "likely" are nothing more than assumptions.

Steeped in operational experience you do not have, nor are even aware of the functionality of. I have been in the field as a service-member. You have not.

All you do is watch CNN and think every little skirmish and fight is some ornately planned thing overseen by a predator that Obama himself is flying.

It's quite hilarious actually.

I see no shame in clarifying the issue being discussed. People should understand how our Government works, who is in charge, and who receives and carries out the orders.

I honestly think, as in conversations past, that you are too stupid to comprehend this conversation. However, for the sake of trying, I will explain to you why you sound like a complete and total dumbass.

You see, the military has its own intelligence operations that occasionally work hand in hand with the CIA, or any other federal information resource. Through tireless efforts, the loss of human life on both sides, and great sacrifice by service-members dedicated to the mission, information was eventually leaked that led to the "probable" location of Osama bin Laden.

This information made its way up through the ranks and was likely discussed ad nauseum by military leaders who assess the validity/reputability of this information, the tactical situation, and comprehensive mission requirements.

A strategy was formulated and Seal Team 6 (DEVGRU) was likely placed on alert/recalled.

During said brief, it was obviously realized that an incursion into Pakistan would be necessary. Since breaching the borders of a foreign country was a mission necessity, Presidential authorization was necessary.

This is where your unabashed love for your president seems to be hung in stupid mode.

Yes, Obama likely said "You have a go", or whatever other Hollywoodized drama-llama commentary you want to dream up.

That's it. That's his entire involvement. Obamas great moment was akin to saying "Ok" to letting the kids play outside.

You don't know if they're skipping rope, playing hopskotch, or riding their bicycles. You just authorized them to "go outside". That's it. That is the "epic pinnacle" of your swelling Democratic pride.

COMMENTS REMOVED BY ADMINISTRATOR: Personal attack / inappropriate.

No COMMENTS REMOVED BY ADMINISTRATOR: Personal attack / inappropriate.. You are wrong again, which makes 3 times in terms of grammar, this post alone. Not that I am proclaiming to be an expert, COMMENTS REMOVED BY ADMINISTRATOR: Personal attack / inappropriate.

The word "Presidential" means anything relating to the presidency, including his current posting.

Air Force One, is the presidential aircraft.
The White House is the presidential residence.
When the President makes a decree, it is a "Presidential" decree.

Here is the definition from Princeton for you to slobber and drool on, on your way to some form of mediocre comprehension, which you will inevitably screw up anyways:

Adjective

  • S: (adj) presidential (relating to a president or presidency) "presidential aides"; "presidential veto"
  • S: (adj) presidential (befitting a president) "criticized the candidate for not looking presidential"

Since your affection and overwhelming devotion towards Obama is so strong that it ignores all of his shortcomings as you embrace your great Democractic Party figurehead, he is aptly described as your "Presidential heart-throb".

You are really bad at this Beretta.

I don't blame you however. You probably have a disease that prohibits you from thinking before speaking, and causes you to claim superiority, then fall flat on your face.

I have never claimed superiority (the only thing worth responding to).

Certainly time to unsubscribe from this one, why off topic now! The two party love-hate relationship should be enough to lock this thread.

I wouldn't believe that pos holder on anything he said. As much as I dislike the "dear leader," I despise holder for the marxist idiot he has shown himself to be for decades. 'US guns arming Mexican cartel.' Now we know why. Remember if the son of a bitch had his way, bin laden would have been given a civil trial with all rights afforded American citizens. **** him.

Oh, by the way, it's "Gung-Ho", not "gung ho".

Actually, "Gung-ho," and "gung ho," are correct forms. You didn't spell "gung ho," you spelled "gun-ho."

I should mention that the comma is supposed to be inside of the quotation (example; "gung ho,"). Also, when you surround "gung ho" in quotation, and 'it' is at the end of a sentence, then you are supposed to include the period inside of the quotation, not outside the qutotation. The only time - at least in American English Grammar - that you have the period outside of the quotation is when you are quoting a single letter ("A".), or a number ("2".).

I find it very interesting that you would use Old English Grammar which places the 'period' outside of quotation. I was under the impression we fought a war to break free from them hundreds of years ago. How Socialistic of you to reach back to your roots, and use their grammatical style in your posts.

Misspelling is an acceptable error.

Simply neglected to type the other "g" somewhere in my 90+ wpm.

However, when attempting to correct somebody sunshine, you should know your posterior from a hole in the ground.

Not only are you wrong about Obamas activities in this op.

You were flat out wrong about all the "corrections" you attempted to make.

Go back to school little girl. Or, keep talking, and get schooled some more. Your choice. :)

It's amazing the number of different stories coming out of the media about this episode. First Osama was armed, then he wasn't. Then he had firearms "within reach".
A picture of Obama and various cabinet officials watching the proceedings on live camera looking all concerned is now said to be a picture of them looking at a blank screen.

First it was a "40 minute firefight", now only "five or six" shots were fired.

I am very sure Osama was indeed taken out by our fighting men. But these confilcting stories issued by the same people indicate an insane scramble to cast Obama in the best light possible. If the DemonRatz thought they could pul it off, they'd concoct a story about Obama secretly flying off to Afghanistan, joining a SEAL team, and shooting binLaden personally.

As I have stated before, the DemonRat philosophy boils down to:

You can fool some of the people most of the time, and most of the people some of the time. But really, you only need to fool enough of the people enough of the time.

The political marketing of this happy event is a great example of the truth of that accusation.

Let's all return to the focal point of this conversation.

DEVGRU operators are the best of the best, and have the admiration, and appreciation of every red white and blue bleeding American out there for their courageous activities in bringing down this figurehead for terror.

They proved for once, and all, that you cannot hide from us forever, and if you try, we will relentlessly hunt you down and end your life.

Let's end this thread on that note please.

I'd say amen but for the libtard trolls trying to spin this into "president" Obama's beatification. Now that binLaden is being crapped out by the fishes (poor things), it's time to say: "well done, Dumbo ears. Now what about this four-buck-plus gasoline?"

If America has ever been the "world policeman", then Obama is a global Barney Fife.
