How common is open carrying in the Youngstown area? I'm still waitting for my Florida permit so I can carry in Ohio. But I have been hearing OC is ok?

Let me get this straight: You are from NY, are waiting on a Florida permit, and you are wanting to carry in Youngstown? Wow, that's what I call getting around!

Seriously, though, HB 347 preempts all local laws on guns, so yes, OC is legal because it is not prohibited by the Ohio Constitution. As anywhere else, you may have to deal with uneducated LEOs, or upset citizens, but that is the exception, not the rule.

I do not know anyone personally who carries in Youngstown, but I wouldn't be in the entire area without a gun. Not really the safest place in Ohio....

Yeah, the previous House Representative from the Youngstown area (Traficant - sp?) is in prison, so that ought to tell you something about the citizenry at large...
