Kennedy's waiting for some cover. If another Federal court rules against carry, he'll probably just cite them in his opinion.

I know that the SAF filed carry lawsuits in both New York and Maryland back in July, but as these cases are almost a year behind the D.C. case, there is no reasonable reason that Kennedy could use to justify withholding justice until after these other cases are decided. I know that this is not a criminal matter, and therefore not directly subject to the authority of the 6th Amendment, but this seems to fly in the face of the whole idea of swift justice through the right to a "speedy trial" that is guaranteed in the Constitution.

There is the Sykes case in CA, which is supposed to restart very soon. Maybe he's going to wait for that.

The DC court calendar shows Kennedy not taking any oral arguments for 2 weeks, so I guess we wait longer......

Judicial Holiday while fundamental rights are ignored by statists that continue to urinate on our constitution. Disgusting!:banghead:

I had a dream last night that there was a favorable ruling in this case. Needless to say, I was very disappointed when I woke and found that I still live in a world where honest citizens are being denied basic civil rights.

It might also be a good idea for me lay off the late night junk food and make something other than OCDO the last thing I check before going to bed.

Bad Gateway error

502 Bad Gateway is the error I get when I try to access the filings of the case. (bad link that used to work)

You may be right VAPatriot. Don't know why we can't access the case filings. I hope that means that the judge is done with the documents and is ready to make his ruling.

Sykes is waiting for Nordyke. I think all the judges are waiting to see the level of scrutiny in that case. Gura and associates are arguing for strict scrutiny.

Not sure what your point is.

I would fully expect that pointing a gun at a LEO would get a response that would be less than pleasant.

My point is could this be a possible false flag attempt to sway the court to rule against carry in the District? It wouldn't be the first time a government has used such tactics to acheive their goals. Can you say Gulf of Tonkin? Did the alleged MWAG really point the thing at the cops? I would be more than willing to bet my last dollar that if this were on the up and up the guy would be DEAD rather than wounded.

Time will tell - I will not speculate.

It may be time for an empty (flap) holster protest in DC

Yes September is over. Another month in which fundamental rights are stolen from the citizens and visitors to DC. The Federal Court has a Judge who can't make a simple ruling.

Please Judge Kennedy stop urinating on the constitution. Deliver a just verdict. If you choose to continue to delay a decision about a fundamental right for 300 million Americans, we will demand redress of our grievence. Start with an empty (flap) holster protest at 333 Constitution Avenue, NW. Yup holsters with flaps. Don't know what is under the flap.

That is a DAMN good idea...

I'll be in the DC area the weekend of 9 October. I'd gladly participate. Heck, if someone can get a protest together on ANY weekend, I'd make a special trip for it...

There would be nobody there on the weekend. It will take a little time to put together, but we should have a weekday protest to ensure maximum impact at the courthouse.
