Mopar all the way

Went by Firestone on Hopkins to make sure they could get the oil I wanted for my Ram. Yes and at a fair price too.

From there I went to DMV on Johnston Willis Dr. - the only place I did not carry. Thanks to our governator I became a fish in a barrel for a short time.

Went into the Dodge dealership on Midlothian to buy a small plastic cap for the overflow reservoir in my Ram - $23.00! No thank you.

Dale, as a longtime Mopar fanatic, one thing I can say is that Chrysler is not shy about their pricing of OEM parts these days. It is a profit center for them, and then some.
So, I recommend a trip to a nearby Pick 'n Pull or similar recycling/salvage yard, to find what you need at low price. Maybe you have to clean some dirt off it; big deal. Bring your toolbox.

Also, Pick 'n Pull has something in common with DMV; both places, it is only a trespass charge if you get caught carrying, and concealing a small pocket .380 is very easy. Especially when you are skinny...

Been a fan of previously tested auto parts for years. Have been on a first name basis with the countermen and manager in years past. At times they would not even charge me for the miscellaneous items I brought out - all genuine Mopar. Some items are the same for cars and trucks.

It seems now that what I want is always at the extreme back of the yard. Soon though I will make my first excursion of the year.

A bobbed hammer mod 60 S & W with hip grips rests just under the shirt of some I hear.

No trespass charge if you leave when asked, before LE gets there.

Note: If they see it, you are not concealing very well...:p

Yesterday, Sunday, OCd at Shoney's on Broad St. for breakfast then loaded up the Ram with food and goods for a memorable trip to Lake Shawnee in Powhatan - DoubleTap and I anchored the Grape Clan at my son's home with an afternoon not experienced often enough in this busy world of ours.

Was informed that stalwart early teen grandson made the traveling soccer team as their starting goalie. His dad doesn't push him, but supports him 110%. Grandpa is proud of both.

Back to my traditional morning OC breakfast stops. First at Burger King then at Hardee's - both near Wamsely and Jeff Davis.

BK needs another prayer meeting and Hardee's can't seem to consistently get my order straight with their first wack at it.

Best biscuits IMHO are at Shoney's - the Shoenbaums would be proud.

May the wind and sun always be at your back and warm your every step.

There's a common feeling back home that you have to be (at least) slightly crazy to be a keeper. Last April Logan & I got to meet with one of the greatest to have ever played in England when he invited us to a private audience for a couple of hours. As someone who watched him play on more occasions than I can count, it was a fabulous experience for me and left an impression on Logan too.

I resemble that remark - son and grandson too. It is the native American genes in them I think.

Had a great OC dinner of crab cakes at Capt D's.

As is his habit, the cook came out to shake my hand and thank me for being there. He treats me right on the portions too...:D

Had OC breakfast at Burger King and then to Firestone on Hopkins to get a Mobile1 oil change in my Ram - good price and fast service.

Ended my OC day at IHOPS on Midlothian next to VSP headquarters. Another customer said I reminded her of a veteran friend - think my purdy 1911 caught her attention and she wanted to chat.

OC breakfast at my favorite BK where I saw a genuine, living, breathing unicorn. Youngish BMWAG wearing a yellow T-shirt and OCing.

A second BMWAG had a large tattoo on his right calf of two .45s - wasn't able to engage him in conversation.

Maybe they will find their way here. Hope so.

Made late OC run to Kroger on Midlothian (old Cloverleaf S.C.) - store is a wreck inside while they do major relocation of merchandise. Give up trying to find several staples - will go to Food Lion if need be.

Back on track with OC breakfast. BK is paying attention to the quality.

IMHO - the only better biscuit is found at Lee's Famous Chicken on W. Broad St. and they don't serve breakfast. Perhaps they will when the old Pleasant's Hardware is converted and operational as a new strip mall. Best biscuit in Virginia.

Finished up my OC day with DoubleTap and I going to O'Charley's on Gaskins Rd. where almost everything went wrong that could:
Very cold booth with wet table top, took 40 min to get food after ordered, salad was wrong, had to ask for extra butter several times, very loud drunk at the bar not 6 feet away.....but the food was good. :p

Started my OC day at Burger King day at 7501 West Broad St. Had to wait for them to open - Sunday not until 7:00 am.

Biscuit was hard around the edges and the jam was hot and runny - strange. BK lacks consistency from one restaurant to the next.

OCd at BJ's on Starling Dr. where I bought 2 specially marked products that gave me a gasoline discount: $2.48/gal is pretty good.

Breakfast at Burger King on Jeff Davis.

Bought palmetto cheese spread with bacon at Food Lion.

OC dinner at Capt. D's across the street from BK. Big time burp!

Had OC breakfast at Golden Corral on Providence Rd. Satisfied my need for biscuits-n-gravy and BACON.

Then OCd for a haircut at Nu Tribe barber shop on Midlothian near GC.

Went by the Verizon store on Forest Hill where they could fix my minor problems for a basket of cash...paid monthly.

Rode to Wawa on Ironbridge Rd. and Cogbill to pick up a few things on the way home. Another customer took note of my 1911 and asked without rancor if it was loaded. Replied that it was when I left home. :D

Will be attending our OC dinner at The Pickel Barrel tonight.

Had late breakfast at Golden Corral on Providence Rd.

My first time seeing Julia (favorite cashier) in months - she only works 3 mornings per week now = Wed, Thurs & Sunday.

Broke my fast and OCd at Burger King on Jeff Davis.

Armed security making a pick up/delivery didn't mind my 1911.

Another customer had Fleer* eyes when he spotted my little friend.
* = big and round, about to pop - like a big bubblegum bubble.

Also saw my daughter-in-law's doppelganger.
