Sunday Out'n'about

Sunday, It was a nice day to OC.

Had my S&W M&P9L out with two mags.

Raleigh/Garner/Containment Area.

I had one odd encounter with a cashier of a beauty store, Sally's, headed towards Fuquay-Varina, who decided to ask me, "Am I a detective?" I replied "Just a citizen." They didn't have what I was looking for anyways. They did have it at Wally World next door and I obtained it, without further incident.

TheGreatEqualizer, welcome to OCDO. Walmart was where I ****** ** ***** as well. I figured that with all the weird people/stuff that they get at walmart... I should be able to OC there without an issue lol.

Nothing interesting to share on my end... I went on a road trip to Boston and OCed in the states where I could without a problem and locked it up in the crap states. Here in wonderful NC... like always, no issues. :D

toddled over to Wilson with a friend this morning to run an errand and to maintain my unique physique decided to consume breakfast at McD. the establishment was packed and looking around showed the eating area filled with adults and some of the good folk were in a lively game of dominoes, others were chatting and carrying on and truly didn't pay us no mind what-so-ever.

then a mature female employee who just happened to be sweeping the floor nearby got closer and whispered...y'al PO-leace? no was the polite response, and she promptly left (ran actually) to behind the counter to have a word with the manager/supervisor etc., pointing all the while.

kudos to management or whomever was told, didn't bat an eye, apparently flat out didn't care cuz nobody popped out to say a word.

now as Paul would say ~ the rest of the story: My friend and i were the only white patrons in the establishment while the other 20 or so patrons were persons of color. While we infrequently visit this McDs whenever we are in the area, and this was the first time where the patrons were not ethnically diverse.

Bottom line: NOBODY cared and our breakfast was uneventful.

Wonder if the reaction would have been similar if you replied "yes".

Just got back from my walk, same as always, a lot of people waving. There was a NY plate car that almost drove off in the ditch though, must have been the first time they have seen a gun on a civilian.

Damn Yankees...

It's sad that the state of NY has been brought to its knees by the liberal population centers such as NYC. Upstate NY is full of good old, gun lovin' red necks. That state, and many more, would likely benefit from a split into two or more states. Others I could think of would be California - the northern part of that state is the odd man out. Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington should secede from their respective states as well.

I was born and raised in Ill, from my understanding, OC is legal on private property. My brother lives there and says all the gun shops he has been to, all working were OCing. I also heard they had an OC rally at a parking lot of one of the gun shops. But yes, there are alot of Patriots up there but unfortunately Chicago runs the state.

so Gutshot & dmatting:

if as dmatting states, parts of the Empire sstate have, let's see how were they were identified, oh ya, "full of good old, gun lovin' red necks" and Gutshot you allude to possibility the same individuals exist in the Praire state, why are there so few posts out on the forum from these locales.

but gutshot, texas hasn't had OC capabilities yet besides their errors of judgement in trying to get their legislation to change their OC'g statutes there were apparently fruitless, texas forum members were out here discussing their efforts.

but those from the Empire state haven't been out pushing towards change?

Perhaps you mean Texas doesn't have handgun OC capabilities yet.

look, tell you what... when Texas gets the same level of OC'g currently exhibited in the tarheel state w/o being attached to an existing privilege card, I'll send a 25$ starbucks card or mcD card. FAIR.

Could you, like, put an actual sentence together once in a while?

What gives you the impression that efforts in Texas have been fruitless? Is it the fact that an OC bill has passed in the Senate on literally one of the first days possible, being non-emergency legislation, even being passed before campus carry which was the preferred priority of the legislators?

sorry to be so harsh and blunt stealth, et al., but, oh wait your referring and mean the Texas OC bill attached to the current CC privilege statutes? ya, that's why i said misguided and fruitless activities over the last year.

how'd that work for ya partner to get unfettered OC'g in the Lone Star state ?

I would prefer a Chik-fil-a gift card. I dont think OC w/o license will happen this Session - would like OC to get here, then we can improve on it. Since Texas is one of the few states where we trust our Legislators only every other year, I think I'll have to use my own cash to buy until 2017 at the earliest. However we might buy a summer home in Blue Ridge or Appalachians before then - OC in summer w/o permit there.[emoji2].

HP, the honesty is refreshing to the point i will send a gift card, but please not from a place i am actively boycotting for their corp policies regarding same sex marriage issues and other anti GLBT issues.

pm me with alternatives and i will pop it in the mail.

sorry tarheel members and thanks for the patience.

and now back to NC open carry stories.... OC'ed in Bojangles on Durant Rd this past weekend. Walked in about 8:30 on Sunday morning to a dining room full of "older northern gentlemen" (that's a bunch of damn Yankees...if case you didn't know). Anyway, strolled in, all talk stops, and I'm thinking somebody's gonna say something stupid. To my surprise, they all went back to their conversation and didn't give me a second glance. I guess open carry is going mainstream.

I'm visiting a relative in the state for a bit. I've OC'd some although haven't visited much yet other than some gun shops and a Jersey Mike's near Mebane / Burlington ... oh and a Dairi-O northwest of Winston-Salem. Going to Carolina Gunrunners now and will grab lunch after. Dunno if the Raleigh folks will freak out but hopefully not.
