The name calling directed at a business who is simply using Wisconsin statutes to administer their daily operations is very unprofessional. After an investigation of posting history it seems certain WCI club members continue to act in a possibly juvenile manner. WCCA tells all.

So, open carried into resturant, ended up being seated in a booth by kitchen door and sitting with firearm facing room.

I'll take a seat near the kitchen door. It's away from the cashier, I have a secondary escape route, and the food is delivered hot. Just don't put me next the restroom.

Please add this Italian restaurant in Elkhorn. Was there Friday night for the first time with friends. Sign to the left of the inner door after you enter the outer vestibule. Is on N 7065 Route 67 north of town. Says no guns allowed and visual of a pistol in a circle, crossed out. Ex-IL owners.

Put Operation "Plastic Banana" into affect last Saturday. Open carried a yellow plastic banana in my OWB holster, into Foster and Smiths in Rhinelander. Had two loaded mags on my weak side, loaded with real bullets, not banana seeds. No guns allowed in retail store.

One of our friends that works there took my picture, to show the manager, who I had a nice gun talk with a couple of months ago. Got a few double takes, probably more than WITH a firearm. Probably more noticeable tho. Got one distinct nod and grin from another guy about my age, but no comments from the public.

Bought two bags of dog food. some Charlie Bears and other treats. As I was checking out a cashier I don't know came over and asked "what's with the banana?" I said "you don't allow me to carry a firearm in here". Unfortunately, everyone in the store showed up to check out right then and so I did not think it proper to stand around and state my case. Maybe they showed up to see the fireworks, who knows? A third person I didn't know was bagging and said " I have my concealed carry" and I just said "good for you".

I felt much safer than with an empty holster. I'm sure the bad guys would have been laughing so hard they would have fallen down. Truth be told, there are probably as many people or more who like the no guns allowed policy, than don't. Gonna be a work in progress, so I'll be back with my banana!

Paul, here is the Holi Cannoli picture.

Is this sign legal?

I came up from Texas, many businesses posted signs just like this one, and they weren't legal as the sign had to quote the entire statute, not just a picture and a reference to the statute.
What is the law up here in WI?
When I get my CCL I may have to paint my Ruger SR9c yellow.

Notice the font. Glad your sight is recovered.
No need to be critical.

He may be posting from a small handheld unit and a PC with a large screen. Point has been made that he has official permission to do so.

Quite honestly, I wish more contributed the quality that he produces - on target and effective.

Why do you patronize merchants that ban guns in their stores? Isn't there a gun friendly store where you could buy dog food?

I patronize this one merchant, Foster and Smith, for several reasons. I have a couple of good friends that work there, they are pet friendly, and they have good prices. Additionally, I am trying in my own way to get them to change their anti firearm policy, trying to make some kind of point, as well as stimulate discussion by getting people to ask me questions vs. me starting a conversation with people that may not care anyway. I figure if you ask me a question, that gives me some leeway to offer you an answer. Yes, there are gun friendly stores that sell dog food.

I was in the IHOP in Oshkosh today and over heard a partial conversation about weapons. I asked the manager about it and she said we don't what guns here. Ok why aren't you posted? It might hurt our business if we do that she says. She also said the would ask anyone they see to leave. I told her I would not be back, she should post the place, and that I would be sure to put her place IHOP OshKosh on the net as anti-gun. It appears IHOP Corp policy is gun friendly though.
