To jog the memory - Biker brawl in Waco mall parking lot, 9 dead (2 by LEO), 20 "injured," 177 arrested, 155 ended up being charged.

No one will be convicted or otherwise held accountable for the 2015 shootout between rival biker gangs in Waco restaurant parking lot that left nine people dead and at least 20 injured, prosecutors in Central Texas said Tuesday.

I wonder if there's a lot of evidence/witnesses that put the blame solely on a trigger-happy LEO.

The ballistics has never been released. After 200 charged with murder. New DA probably did not want to have any discovery by defendants attorneys. Not really sure how many were killed & injured by rifle fire, but only the Texas DPS, Sheriff & deputies and I think Waco police were in attendance - had rifles. Bikers had pistols. Conservative Treehouse/Sundance has outstanding analysis of the cops firing at will into a crowd of folks trying to get out of the way.

Remember it well. Cops did what they usually do when faced with a group they fear. They overreacted and started firing willy nilly into the crowd.
A lot more backbone and a little more smarts that slaughter would never have happened.

According to a local radio talk show host, the recently elected prosecutor (who was elected over the incumbent based on the way they had handled the shooting) stated that he had "nothing to work with" because of his predeccesor's mishandling. The newer prosecutor also alluded to post-mortem tests that showed some of the bullets found were from LEOs but they couldn't determine if they were the cause of death because of other bullet wounds in the bodies.

So the infamous finger pointing dance, he said/he said chanting, coupled with ‘didn’t happen on my watch’ mentality has begun...all to mitigate civil suits!

Kinda makes you wonder of about the non-specified use of of the term SOME doesn’t it?

I recall mention of sloppy work by the police, forensics, and the DA. From what I gather (my opinion only), there was a distinct fear of opening the department and local government up to massive lawsuit due to on-site law enforcement actions. If they pressed charges against the bikers, discovery would reveal evidence implicating law enforcement. If they dropped all charges against the bikers, they could sit on what evidence they didn't botch.
