Government employees and the media are Texas are now using the assassination of 5 police officers in Dallas, Texas as justification for banning OC of long guns.

I believe that it is only a matter of time before something similar happens in Washington. Then, the media and government employees in Washington will do the same thing here that they are doing in Texas. There is a way to completely eviscerate the media and government employees and cut them off at the knees when they try this. But, 2nd Amendment advocates are going to have to change the way that they think about framing the arguments, and do some things that don't come naturally to them. Here is an argument that will shut down the media and government employees, because it reinforces negative public perceptions about government employees.

"When police openly carry their guns, it becomes impossible for citizens to differentiate between the officers who are racists that want to use black people as targets for skeet shooting, vs. the officers that want to legitimately protect the public. Therefore, open carry of guns by police should be banned."

1) Statists will claim that this is ridiculous and not even a serious proposal because no rational person would propose disarming the police. RESPONSE: Other countries have disarmed the police (England, Norway), so obviously this is a serious proposal. Since the U.S. has adopted socialized medicine, there is no reason we can't adopt their policies of disarming the police in order to promote public safety.

2) Statists will claim that police don't use blacks as skeet shooting. RESPONSE: Even though the specific accusation may sound ridiculous on the surface, the raw emotion will resonate with black people who naturally fear the police. To reinforce this, remind the media of instances of racism and shootings of minorities. Publicize the results of the research.

3) Even though the entire argument is ridiculous, it perfectly mirrors the logic of the statists, and will educate them on possible outcomes of attacking 2nd Amendment rights.

I should also mention that anyone prepared to conduct such a PR campaign, might have to start self-identifying as black, and be ready to create an auxiliary organization to BLM, if BLM fails to see the wisdom in disarming government employees to combat racism.

LG OT. Concealed LG verges on oxymoronic.

That is a little too cryptic for me. I think you might have been trying to say "Long gun is off topic on this forum".

I predict the attack in Washington will be on open-carry of anything that spits out metal, regardless of barrel length. The leftistss have had the banning of all OC on their agenda for quite a few years. I am certain that they are just waiting for the "right" incident to manifest, before pressing on with a full frontal assault on open carry of long guns and hand guns.

From my newsfeed this morning: http://www.seattlepi.com/local/poli...or-Congress-caught-flat-footed-by-8379457.php

Nobody was of a mind to take up arms, but all three candidates were of a mind to disarm -- in a very limited way -- in an America where 32,000 people are killed each year by firearms.

"We are the only country in the world with the level of gun violence we have in this nation," Jayapal argued.

All three candidates agreed that so-called "open carry" laws should be repealed. After Washington voters in 2014 enacted I-594, requiring criminal background checks for gun purchasers, protesters packing heat invaded the visitor gallery of the state House of Representatives in Olympia.

Both Walkinshaw and McDermott argued for a renewed ban on semi-automatic assault weapons, enacted under President Clinton but allowed to expire by a Republican congress during the Bush administration.
