Hey all,

I was reading through some posts on the True Tales and other areas, and I came across a lot of folks advocating the carry of pepper spray, tazers, knives and other such devices. A few stories seem to indicate that people carry a pistol, tazer, pepper spray, combat knife, as well as a recording device, cell phone, extra ammo etc. That's one heck of a Bat-Belt, and I couldn't help but picture trying to get dressed in the morning to go out like that.

Anyway, when I'm out and about, I usually have a cell phone and I'll pack a pistol either on my belt or CCW inside a jacket pocket (depending on where I'm going). That's about it aside from my wallet and car keys. What do you carry daily?

Dan Wesson .45 1911 and a cell phone on the belt. Recorder in my pocket. The cell phone and recorder are minuscule compared to the heft of my .45. I tend to list a bit to the right.

I have pepper spray on my keychain so there is nothing else I have to do, just grab my keys and I'll have it right there. I also carry my full size beretta (not always daily) and I always have my cell phone close by. My boyfriend just carries the pistol and his phone. I think it is all a matter of preference?!

I'm sorry to ask, but what is a gerber folder? I thought of baby food hahaha, that can't be it, a folder full of baby food. It would be funny to be able to throw baby food at people though!! =)

That's pretty handy, I might just look into getting one of those. How many times can you spray it before it's empty? (If it is on a keychain I'm guessing maybe one or two short blasts?)

Usually just my pistol, but I have also carried a knife/spray. I've always though spray would be a great idea, like if someone was to try to draw your weapon from your holster or something that is less violent yet still very serious.

I carry a Taurus PT92 with Speer Gold Dot HPs. Cell phone, keys, etc.... I don't worry too much ab out someone taking my weapon. I am a pretty big guy, and have a really good retention strap on the pistol.

I think I smell bad also, as people seem to avoid me :)

I too carry Pepper spray on my key chain sometimes. Only bad thing is mine is real bulky and is uncomfortable in my pockets. Also carry a knife.

It says it's good for ten sprays actually, I'm sure short ones though.

who says it will always be a gun fight? besides, a knife is a very useful tool for a variety of missions and has been for 10's of thousands of years. :)

I do. If someone pulls a knife , that's a lethal weapon- they will get the gun as a response. in the Movie "Hoffa" the guy aiming the gun say's to knife wielding Danny Diveto...Go like a white man carry a gun.....never truer words.

The Bat Belt analogy is pretty good. I've often felt that way as I empty my pockets at the end of each day.

USP or P2000
Spare magazine
Leatherman Skeletool CX
Work Blackberry
Personal Blackberry
Car key
Other keys
Costanza Wallet
Burt's Bees lip balm
Eye drops
ASP Palm Defender OC spray
Surefire E2D LED Defender

Most of the above pictured:

Yeah, I lose a lot of weight at the end of the day...

Some of those items are optional and depend on where I am going/where I've been. For example, if I'm not on call for work, after leaving work I drop down to one phone. The OC spray tends to be a work-only item, while the USP/P2000 of course is the 'cant be carried at work' item (big companies certainly have their drawbacks eh?) Alas, the rest is pretty much guaranteed to be on me no matter what. If you wanna see humor, you should watch me getting ready/dressed to walk the dog =)
