I'll be there this weekend, probably early saturday.

In fact, last time the show was in town I stood outside and grabbed a few signatures before I had to go. Got like 5 or 6 in about a half hour. Granted I couldn't talk to everyone...

It would be smart to have petitions for both Milwaukee and Waukesha CO...I missed out on signatures for MKE since I didn't have one for that county.

Hello all,

I've been reading the forums lately (though never posted) and I definitely like the message many of you carry. I plan on showing up to the gun show Saturday and am pretty interesting in reading any literature anyone has. I'll start warming up my signingarm if there are any petitions with a pro open carry message!

So far, the only time I have ever open carried was in front of the mirror when I bought a new holster for my Taurus 9mm! Keep up the good work and hopefully I can contribute to the cause in the future!

I won't be at the W#aukesha gun show. I wish I could. I would like to meet you guys in person. The show is coming at an opportune time for us. There is a growing statewide interest in open carry. For that matter there is a nationwide interest, even in the la-la land of California. The interest in open carry in Wisconsin is without question growing. The Wisconsin membership to this forum seems to have doubled in the last couple of months. Now that the snowball has formed we have to keep it rolling. The Waukesha gun show is an ideal place to give it a big push.

Some of you that attend, look around and see if you see any "no carry guns allowed" or "no guns allowed" signs. I attend numerous gun shows in the Western part of the state and into Minnesota. It concerns me that when I attend a gun show in Minnesota I invaribly see a sign posted that no carry guns are allowed. Mind you. A gun show. A place where probably 100% of the exhibitors strongly support the right to carry firearms for personal protection, but won't allow them to be carried in the gun show. I hope we don't end up that hypocritical.

As I have maintained. Wisconsin has probably the least restrictive gun rights concerning the carry of firearms for personel protection. It is probably rivaled only by Alaska and Vermont. Our rights are protected by no nonsense wording in the state constitution, protected from infringement by lower political sub-divisions by way of a very strong preemption statute and few prohibited locations. The only condition is that the firearms must be carried so that they are visible. Our challenge is to get the word out that these rights exist.

Anyway enjoy the show, and spread the word.

Just to play devil's advocate, Lammie, I do know some insurance carriers don't want carry firearms b/c of the possible liability problems. I remember a thread somewhere about this, probably the now-defunct packing.org.

In reality, Wisconsin Patriots have been treated to a "don't ask, don't tell" policy. We don't ask permission, and nobody tells us "no." IMHO, that's how carry should be anyways...

Gene taught us one very important thing when dealing with this situation: Never ask permission. If you must get clarification about a posted sign or the like, use language like "I would like to continue shopping here, but I won't be able to if I would have tosurrender my means of personal securityin order to do so." Even better if you can say "My friends and I," or "My family and I."

Look for me standing out front getting signatures in the early morning. I'll probably go into the show at 10:30am.
Well, I was out there looking for petitioners. Was out Friday at ~ 6-7 pm and saw the table, but nobody (and no petititons) around.

Went back today at 1 and the table was gone.

Lots were packing up at 1:30.

Looked like some folks were going to go the distance...but there were a LOT of tables in the middle of being broken down already.

There were four of us there today, the last two of us started packing up around 1330 when the other tables around us did, and foot traffic was getting lighter. I'd say of the people who stopped to talk with us, about 95% signed the petition for their respective county.

That's cool. I'm in Wauk. county and I'm sure at this point one more sig wouldn't have mattered much. My actual visit was...

Step in...notice that the boards were gone from where I saw them Friday night...walk to another area, start taking care of some business and paperwork and noticed your new location. While the paperwork was being dealt with...you dismantled the table and disappeared before I could stop over. :p
