I generally just have my Camelbak, but when there might be a chance of being out longer than the Camelbak is good for, I have a small bottle (it looks like a sports bottle) with a built in filter.

The Sawyer In Line filter is the greatest! It weighs almost nothing, you just splice it into your bladder hose, fill the bladder up at the source (use a bandana as a pre-filter if the water has large particulates) and you are good to go!
I hang my bladder and use it as a gravity filter in camp.

Lightweight. Can fit in your shirt pocket (OK, end sticks out). Does exactly what it is supposed to do without tacticool add-ons. Not expensive.
