Constitutional Carry becomes law here in Oklahoma effective November 1, 2019.
My permission slip to carry has expired and I’m just patiently waiting.
It expired because of medical issues I had going on and don’t see the need to renew for now.

Since you mention medical issues, and I really DON'T want to know what they were, be careful. If you were a prohibited person before because of your medical issues, you are still prohibited under the new law. The only thing the law changes is removing the requirement to have a piece of plastic issued by the state.

Sorry, okie, not sure the OP is deserving of a public admonishment from you and it seems completely unwarranted to accuse the poster by stating, “if you were...” based on their initial post.

This was meant to be a "cautionary note" not an accusation. The OP used the words "expired because of medical issues." I included the "IF" because I wanted to give the OP the benefit of the doubt. Many people I have spoken to about the new law think that it removes the current restrictions and that truly "anyone" can carry without restrictions. That is the misconception I intended to address.

How pray tell are LEs or citizens going to know if another armed citizen’s is prohibited until after an SD event?

Surely the nice LEs are not going go into a “papers please” mentality whenever the spot a OKIE citizen carrying are they?

I would never advocate lawlessness, per se., but isn’t concealed ~ out of sight out of mind ~ type of carry concept?

Ya medical issues like heart, or kidney, or cancer, or joint replacement, or stroke, or or a lack of $$$ while laid up while medically recuperating caused the lack of renewal of their permit?

Constitutional Carry OK in Oklahoma Despite Attempts to Deny, Delay, Derail New Law

While the state’s preemption law prohibits local municipalities from enacting gun laws that are more restrictive than the state’s, open or concealed carry is not allowed on college campuses. It remains illegal for gun owners to carry into public sporting events or casinos, although they are now free to carry at public parks and zoos. Property owners remain free to prohibit carrying if they so choose. The law also bans anyone in the state illegally or those convicted of certain crimes from enjoying the benefits of the new law.

The new law extends to visitors to the state as well, said state Senator Kim David: “We allow for people in other states to be able to carry in this state without a permit. This bill simply allows law-abiding citizens who wish to carry a weapon to be able to do that in our state without ... a permit.
So, it really isn't Constitutional carry, is it.
