Virginia OC for Non-resident

I live in Florida and have a CWP. I'm considering a new position with my company that will have me working at the Pentagon. If I take the job, I'll be flying up every Sunday evening and returning home every Thursday night or Friday.

I don't think they will let me carry into the Pentagon itself , but are there any other Federal areas that are off limits OC/CC- other than the areas outlined by the Commonwealth?

The obvious choice is to stay in the Arlington area, but have a few questions: Is OC permitted for non-residents? The airport is inside Virginia, right? So normal airport and TSA regs apply for transportation of firearms, right?

Not sure if I'll be allowed a rental car or not: Any advise on using public transportation? Even if I get a car I'm going to want to get a hotel close to a Merto stop, so I can use that to get to work (not carrying). I'm wondering about using public transportation on my time off (carry all time, OC/CC).

OC in VA is not dependent on being a resident, so you are fine in that aspect. One thing to keep in mind is that there is federal property scattered all over the Northern Virginia area right outside of D.C., so you need to have a good map and do some research before you travel too far from wherever you are staying.

Also, I found this regarding the airport.

Reagan National is physically located in Virginia but has a Washington, D.C. mailing address. Where is the Airport located legally?
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is located in Virginia. Federal law and Virginia Code both state the Airport is "situated within the Commonwealth of Virginia" (see 59 Stat. 552 (1945); 1950 Va. Code Sec 7.1-10 (1983)). There are also court decisions holding the airport is located in Virginia (see Pfister v. Director, Office of Workers Compensation, etc., 675 F.2d 1314, 1315-16 (D.C. Cir. 1982); and Bryan v. District of Columbia Unemployment Compensation Board, 342 A.2d 45 (D.C. Ct. App. 1975)).

When the federal government operated Reagan National and Dulles prior to 1987, both Airports had Washington, D.C. postal addresses. Tocontinue identifying the service area more easily for travelers, the Authority did not change the addresses.

So, it appears that you just have to deal with the standard airline and TSA rules for checking firearms.

not certain, but DCA is on the George Washington Parkway, and that is (someone correct me if im wrong) federal property (national park service).

GW Memorial Parkway is owned and operated by the National Park Service. So, you are correct. Carry on this property is prohibited.

The Park Service carry ban is not applicable to airport property, and, while it is possible to get to from reagan on Metro and state streets, the park service has supposedly been told not to write tickets for GW Parkway gun carry.
