Roseburg turning into potential battleground over 2A

The Seattle Times is running a story this morning from the New York Times that seems to raise some cultural eyebrows because it reveals that Roseburg, Oregon residents – even in the wake of last week’s college shooting – like their guns and some folks are considering buying guns.

Perpetrator posted his plan to internet wormhole, 4chan the night before the shooting. Asked advice. Actually got advice.

"What’s more worrying is some people posted on the thread giving advice on the best ways to kill people.

'I suggest you enter a classroom and tell people that you will take them as hostages. Make everyone get in one corner and then open fire.'"

So much for the infamous NSA spying, I guess Islamist sympathizer is not on their list.

Unlike other mass shootings, where the mainstream discussion of gun-free zones was muted, glossed over, or entirely absent, I have noticed that a discussion of the dangers of gun-free zones is starting to get traction nationally . . . or is it just me?

I see the same movement afoot both from candidates for national office and in the various state legislatures.

The media hasn't come around yet, but even when their reports are negative they cause people to think. More and more people are just refusing to drink the Kool-Aid and are saying "Enough! We have tried it the other way and now we will demand the right to defend ourselves and our loved ones."

I hope this ground swell that I feel coming continues to build and that the antis are left in the dust. We shall see.

The courts are supposed to uphold the 4A because it does say exactly what it says. The cops hope that their acts will not be challenged, and if they are challenged then the courts will take into account the "gravity of the situation" and decline to hold the cops accountable for their obvious unreasonableness. Thus the Aurora reference.

Advance safety, in all situations, at all costs. Individual liberty is to be sacrificed in the name of safety and security.

It is more than a mental health problem, much more. This guy clearly had terrorist intentions by the sites he visits. But MSM, and Obama do not want to admit to that.

At sometime he will probably call it workplace violence to avoid the truth.

Funny, all the media I see is in a massive push for gun control, the only positive I saw was from the wife, with a sign from a school in Texas mentioning the teachers are armed, which the commentary was alot less then admirable. apparently a lot of "teachers" and "parents" prefer the/their children in victim zones with no way of retaliating.

also mentioned armed teacher have to take training courses, and go through psych eval's prior to being allowed to carry.

I did point out that the media is not in our court.

'Publicans now have 2 candidates for president who are solidly behind the 2A: Trump and Carson.

The gun laws in many states have been improved noticeably over the past few years. This trend shows no signs of abating.

Texas is coming on board with legal OC. Florida is in the midst of trying to hammer out a similar change.

Six states now have Constitutional Carry: Alaska, Arizona, Kansas, Maine, Vermont, and Wyoming

I see the cup as filling, not draining. Sure there is more work to do......so let's do it.

The problem with that is it is all by the stroke of a pen, IMO bad ju ju. The more a right is allowed by legislative process the easier it is to take it away when the winds shift. We cannot be just satisfied with legislation for a right, it is like asking permission to breath. I agree for the time being we are moving forward, but how long?

Yeah WalkingWolf, It was most likely not knowing about the drugs the Psyco Doctors put him on,
heres an article on that shooter.

Most all these school shooters were on some kind of psyco drugs, legal ones too. Sad :(

Carson is DEFINITELY not "solidly behind the 2A".

the only one who is "solidly behind the 2A" is Rand Paul.

and i'm editing to add this: if any candidate is "for" something, "but", then they are not for it at all. that's exactly how trump and carson are. they are for it BUT.....
