Our T'town meet up will be on Monday the August 15th. We've had great success here and hope to see some new faces at this meet-up, as usual. I had a phone call from a 77 yo police instructor from here in Tuscaloosa. He told me he had know that OC was legal from way back. His only problem was that some would be able to "wear" one who didn't need to. My "nice" reply was, yeah freedoms are like that. He told me he would try to come to the meeting. Hope to see him there, and you too.

Some of you from other areas who are reading this may benefit OC by placing an ad in a local sale paper. We have one here called Classitides.com In the gun hunting fishing section I placed an ad concerning OC. I've had good results and average a phone call about every other day. The body of the ad is below.

Alabama Open Carry, is a group that promotes law abiding citizens openly carrying a weapon for defense of self and State. Next meeting at the Cracker Barrel in Tuscaloosa Monday, August 15th @11:30. Yes, it’s legal in Alabama. For more info www.aloc.info or call 205-242-0950

Hey Eddie! Long time, no hear. If I am not scheduled to work on Monday, I'll head up that way.

I would just take exception to your last paragraph. According to the person who owns the site, ALOC is his site and under his control, and is not a group promoting anything. Would that it were.

The site, however, has attracted a bunch of nice folk who promote the right to carry.

There have been several threads recently in different state forums about Cracker Barrel being opposed to open carry. Have you guys been having problems at yours in Alabama? Might want to consider a secondary location.

Newbie here. Just learned of this site tonight.
I assume this is the Cracker Barrel right off I-20 across from the Chevy dealer?
Any particular room, if any, you meet in?
My lunch is flexible, may try to drop in Monday.

I don't remember there being a Chevy dealer, just a couple hotels...

This is the address: 4800 Doris Pate Drive, Tuscaloosa, AL

As for CB being anti-gun, we've had nothing but support from the management here. If it's a corporate thing, I guess the ones I go to didn't get the memo.

It was nice to meet everyone today at Cracker Barrel.
Hopefully I can see y'all again next month.
You fellows seem to know your stuff.

Yeah the Chevy dealer is the next exit across from Ruby Tuesdays ..... My Bad.

Yes, it was good to meet some new folks and to see some old friends.

The Cracker Barrel was nowhere near its sign! I headed down the road, hell-bent for the sign, and zipped right past the Cracker Barrel, finding the sign at a dead end on a hill with no restaurant in sight. [These new smilies stink. That one is supposes to be "mad." It looks more like "sick to stomach."]

Good to see you Eye95. Wich we'd had more time to talk. And nice to meet you S1. Hope you become a regular with us. I think we had 5-6 "newbies" and one first time OC'er. Cracker Barrel people kept telling me how much they appreciated us being there. Maybe they weren't worried about being robbed while we were there. :0)
