Hey Everyone!

Open carry ban has been pulled from the agenda!!!!!!!!!!

Right when I signed up the 14th person to speak at the upcoming city council meeting that is when things changed.

I literally just got a call from the city attorney and they have pulled the open carry ban from the agenda. They are referring it back to committee and are going to make changes and bring back up in December or January. I don’t know what those changes will be but I will keep everyone informed.

Please send out the good news and have people stand down!! I really think we would have had 400 people at the meeting.

The power of the internet!! All the emails made the difference.

Please resend a victory email and thank the Kansas State Rifle Association, Topeka 912 & Topeka/Shawnee County Libertarians for making a difference.

God Bless,

Earl T McIntosh

Agenda Items
Items 5.D. through 5.F. Resolutions - Ban on Concealed Weapons in Topeka Municipal Building, Cyrus K. Holliday Building, and Gage Park Zoo
Items 5.D., 5.E., and 5.F. are resolutions that will extend the current exemption from the new state law – which allows concealed carry licensees to carry concealed firearms into municipal buildings unless the buildings are equipped with metal detectors and security personnel – until December 31, 2017. The four year period will give the Council time to consider whether it wants to budget for and install metal detectors and hire additional security personnel in the Municipal Building, Holliday Building, and the Zoo. If the resolutions are not passed, concealed carry licensees will be able to carry concealed firearms into these buildings beginning on January 1, 2014.
