NH may be nice, but it's an island in the middle of east-coast garbage... At least in the Pac NW you're close to NV, UT, WY, MT, ID (of course), eastern WA and eastern OR (which really must be considered separately from western WA and western OR)

I can't think of very many states I'd rather be in than ID, WY, or MT.

That's why I say "not too bad", just stay out of Denver. At least CC is reasonably well-dispersed and the rest of the state is in good shape, for now.

But CO only honors resident CC Permits and they don't honor WA... So, it's absolutely impossible for me to CC in CO and absolutely impossible for me to OC in Denver unless I move to another state, like ID. (which I'd like to do)

CO makes me :cuss:.

Well, sort of ticks me off that WA, OR and NV don't honor my ID CC permit but I make the best of it. It's a bit unfair that ID honors everybody else's and doesn't get full reciprocity but that just comes from being bigger about the issue than several otherstates.

Maybe you're not clear that I'm saying (and perhaps, I'm not clearly saying it) that CO is on the "other states" portion of the list?

The gun laws are one of the major factors why I moved here a few months ago.

I was seriously considering joining the Freestate project when we were still voting on states. When NH was picked, I was disappointed. Have you ever watched the Ridley Reports at all? Some of it seems a little immature, but they pack their statehouse whenever there is an issue that needs to be spoken out on. They're there so often, the authorities are used to seeing them coming and going from courthouses and statehouses armed...

Idaho is not a bad place to have the same type of movement. Why not start a free state project here? That is, after all, what we're working towards ultimately anyway.

:) Thats the direction I was going to be taking this conversation. I'd really like to see us maybe get more involved in not just firearm rights, but standing up for freedom period. I don't know about the "civil" disobedience and minor arrests for stupid things; these are all just passing thoughts and I was curious what everyone else was thinking.

There are local groups already formed that you may be interested in. I have been following these two for a bit now and they have fairly regular meets. In fact, there is one today at noon in Capitol Park to show opposition to the health-care reformers that have a demonstration scheduled at the same time.

This one started as a Ron Paul campaign but have since switched to local politics:
Idahoans for Liberty http://ronpaul.meetup.com/62/

This one started off as part of the Glen Beck 9/12 effort and focuses on Constitutional issues:
912 Project / GOOOH http://www.meetup.com/We-Surround-Them-Boise/

There are a number of other groups on meetup.com that are local, conservative, 2A, politically active, etc. May be worth checking out to see if any of them meet your objectives.

I agree wholeheartedly and that is the reason I'm on this site at all. Our present struggle is so much greater in scope than the petty challenges to the 2nd Amendment.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of small minded people out there who can't see past the one issue and take in the whole picture.

I too have been looking at getting more involved locally and both the aforementioned groups have caught my eye, as has this one. I'm just starting to check you guys out, but so far I like most of what I'm reading.

Anyone involved with a local 912 Project? I'm looking to get more involved at the grassroots level locally here in CDA as well as over in Spokane after attending their tea party this past weekend @ the Clock Tower in the park.

And this is just my opinion about moving back East - don't.
