Millbury Police Chief, Donald Desorcy said he's certain the teacher knew he was carrying ammunition when he walked into school on Thursday, even though the man claimed it was an accident.

Why? Because all people are liars and should be assumed so without proof one way or the other? Or just gun owners? I am tired of the police automatically being believed and ordinary citizens not.

According to officials, it is not illegal to bring ammunition on school grounds, but police said the man will face criminal charges for what they found at his home.

If what he did was not illegal, what business did the cops have to even look for something in his home???

The teacher was licensed to carry and his weapons were registered, but his license has now been revoked under the police chief's discretion.

Discretion? DISCRETION??? This is why a Right should never be licensed. It gives jack-booted government thugs the impression that they can exercise discretion over our Rights.

"To me, that’s just not sound judgment, an individual not thinking clearly or have a strong concept of gun ownership or gun responsibility," said Desorcy.

A population will be policed as long as it agrees to.

There are places in this nation LE simply will not go at night nor without an army in daylight because populations in those cities do not simply bow at the sight of a badge.

Your already a criminal if you exercise your rights.

You can slide by most of the time if you just accept what gov permission you have.

Other than that, help hold LE feet to the fire when they violate the BOR.

Noooooo, Whaaaaaaaaat.....this can't be........What kind of backward azz thinking is this? Who came up with this ingenious idea?

Don't know, but LE is given a pass way to much with their wrong doings.

Unless the heat is on judges will let an LEO literally get away with murder if they can at, all.

HUZZAH yet another copyrighted newspeek article which is brim full of TRUTH by both the journalist(s) and the illustrious chief of police?

BTW a minor query...why is the police chief personally involved in this at all?

I agree - disturbing on many levels. Between the school, the talkative chief, and the illiterate WHIO copy flingers - whew.

(y) Precisely! Story should have ended right after "it is not illegal to bring ammunition on school grounds."

And yet "police said the man will face criminal charges for what they found at his home" - "When police went to his house later that day, they a number of improperly secured rifles and handguns, along with ammunition."

(They __ a number of ... they saw? they found? they imagined? they planted? Apparently not important enough to mention.) 🙁

why is the police chief personally involved in this at all?

(y) Yep. Maybe this relates to "guvtools" such as ERPO? I see that MA allows family or police to request:

Unfortunately the storage issue may prove troublesome because of actual law:

But I get the idea that law or not, they were gonna do something to mess with the guy once "Another teacher saw it happen and immediately reported it to the principal's office." Once accused, that's it; guilty of subjective non-crimes until proven suitably punished or they get bored. Perhaps the home search will be ruled inadmissable, but with ERPO and similar laws and guv habits that override the law, basically they can and will mess with people. 😦

If you can, get out of anti-Constitutional states and cities! If you must live there, you must also accept some infringement. I'm in the same boat - not as bad as MA, but no longer in MO unfortunately, which sucks legally.

ERPOs and similar tools, as well as anti-Constitutional laws, are taking out gun owners one by one. We have to unite and push back together! This is attrition and there are so many ways they pursue it.

Sounds like the teach has a solid civil suit and may likely never need to worry about being a sub for the few pennies that line of work provided. Get a good lawyer, don't settle, and publicly name/shame any individual involved in his unlawful treatment at the hands of the state. The chief is on record; he did not violate the law...yet he moved forward and violated the law.
