Glad to hear you're having normal interactions, although I'd expect no less from Grants Pass.

Doing a road trip out to Kansas City and was driving through eastern Oregon on I-84.

Stopped at the pilot in Stanfield for gas and coffee, well the gas station clerk is filling my car A guy got out of his car next to me looked at my license plates and then remarked "oh you're from Washington so you're allowed to open carry" so I asked what he meant by that and he said "well I live here in Oregon and Oregonians can only carry concealed because they can get a license" huh? After explaining to him that open carry is not a crime in Oregon, and anyone from any state can do so he seemed confused.

Although the full service gas station clerk backed me up!

Went inside the pilot where there is also a McDonald's attached to the building, while waiting in line to get my Egg McMuffin and coffee A middle-age looking woman asked if my holster was comfortable for caring a gun. Had a nice little discussion there.

I also stopped at an auto parts store in Pendleton to replace my headlights, and I checked into the hotel I'm staying at tonight in Ontario while openly carrying. No issues to report. Tommorow I hope to make Cheyenne so hopefully I'll have some good news to report for Idaho, Wyo and Utah

...full service GS? Now I know yer is fibbin. ;)

Several years ago I pulled a camper from Missouri to Reno, and back, via I-90/I-80 to see Mt. Rushmore, Yellow Stone, and other sites of interest, and had no issues while OCing. Was I lucky, or was it that folks did not notice, or did not care if they did notice.

Safe travels.

In Oregon it's state law that you cannot pump your own gasoline into your car. A gas station attendant must do it.

Yes but I believe the comments was a reference to some of us being old enough to remember that "full service" used to entail the attendant(s) cleaning your windshield, checking the oil, and checking tire pressure as well as pumping the gas.

some provided that 'full service' attention to patrons as well as filled the car with 5 gallons of high-test and 10 gallons of regular and oh, make sure the credit receipt reflects the distinction please!!

ipse

Also in every state you should have gone through open carry is legal to some degree. Utah would be the hiccup. Utah has a law against carrying a "loaded" firearm which includes open carry, and they have a pretty jacked up definition of loaded.

However as I have a WA carry license and Utah recognizes these I am exempt from this

No arguments from me.

I must have been lucky while traveling through Utah...or, Utah folks are a wee bit more down to earth than folks a wee bit farther east... or west.

Safe travels and keep us posted on your experiences.

I have been open carrying pretty much all of the time that I am not working, for several months now. Happy to report that I have not heard even one negative comment. Have gotten quite a few positive comments though. Several people have gone out of their way to thank me for carrying.

I realize this is a nit picky, off topic question focusing on an irrelevant point of your post, but I'm wondering

Why did you replace your headlightS?

I apologize in advance for doing the exact thing that burns my skirt, but wanna know!

I replace auto lights in left-right pairs for the bulbs having the same Mean Time Between Failure implies that the other one is due to fail soon.

Ha!! That was my suspicion as well. I've got multiples of millions of miles under my belt, and I'm not sure I agree but it's your money. And peace of mind I suppose. Maybe an engineer thing?

Went to Ashland today with the wife and daughter. Spent a couple of hours there, in and out of probably a dozen different businesses. Open carrying the whole time. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. No problem whatsoever.
