I'm not particularly a fan of LTC West, but I salute him for speaking up.

I concur. He did so reluctantly, but necessarily so.

I cancelled my NRA membership about 10 months into it after receiving numerous pleas for even more money, all with Wayne LaPierre's signature and face plastered all over the letters.

AMAC has never done that.

Anyway, in response to my cancelling my membership in the NRA, they TRIPLED their efforts, using every emotional appear in the book to try to get me to change my mind.

I found it laughable they spent more money mailing me money-grubbing requests than my annual dues could ever possibly support. They were certainly in the red when they began stepping up their game with their emotional appeals.

Definitely NOT running an honest business, there.

Besides, I really did NOT like the fact they failed on many occasions to stand firm with the Second Amendment.

Being a life member for over 15 years, I mostly just ignore the extra "pleas" for additional donations. That is also easy to do being retired and on a fixed income. My primary interest now is the magazine and legislative alerts, and I get more of the latter at forums like Illinois Carry.
Unfortunately, it also keeps me from donating to many other worthy causes that I would like to support (SAF, GOA, etc.).
