I am thinking of going to Puerto Rico for 3 or 4 months I have a house there, I have Connecticut permit, I will be leaving my guns here in the Bolted floor safe that they are in now, and locked up in my house here, do I hve to change my permit to non resident and inform of the temporary move? or do I have to only if it is permanent?

Lots of people maintain two residences. I don't see why you would have to inform anyone at the DPS. Leaving behind a furnished home with a stocked gun safe is not what someone does when moving. You're just on "vacation".

I agree.

Also, if the safe is bolted and such it proves you are safety minded.

I couldn't see you having a problem based on what I've heard so far observing the Board Firearm Permit Examiners hearings.

You would have to be gone for more than 6 months before you could declare yourself a resident of a second state unless you planed not to come back at all.

I would not be gone more than six months, I do own both houses, well at least the one in Puerto Rico, the one here the Bank still owns, and the safe is bolted to the floor / Cement Floor and only I have the combination, my wife does not even have it for safety reasons of course.

Safety..... for you!!! Sorry, couldn't resit.

Sounds like you'll be fine indeed.

Though, you got it backwards..... you were supposed to go to PR before all this snow!!!!
