After reading the account (didn't read all 4 pages of the thread), I believe I would have shot the guy if the gun was that real looking when he got out of the car with gun in hand......I definitely would have drawn down on the guy and yelled at him to drop it if he didn't want to get shot.

Amazing restraint.......maybe a little too much. I'm sure you all remember the guy at the Tacoma Mall a couple years back when they had the shooting there; one guy drew, but couldn't pull the trigger.....the guy is now paralyzed for life.......if you realistically feel your life, or someone else's is in danger, draw and fire if needed......

Wow, heckuva situation to find oneself in and a tough call. There certainly is no doubt that Saint handled the best he could and was thinking the entire time. Thankfully it was the best outcome possible given the situation.

The OP is a much cooler head than I. Unless there was someimmediate clue that it was only a BB gun, I would have been very frightened and probably would have fired.

I agree with the manner the op removed himself from the vehicle keeping it between him and the other man. At that point is where it would have gone much different for me. As soon as I had that barrier my weapon would be drawn, than as soon as that other man turned and pointed the gun near the woman and the other man, he would have died...

Now living with the knowledge later that I killed a man over a BB gun is another story on its own. This man is lucky to be alive, and the OP is fortunate the outcome didn't involve any one being shot from a man who had a real gun instead of a fake.

I can't imagine that I'd feel bad about killing that perp. If you're dumb enough to threaten someone like that, you deserve whatever happens.

Sorry, but at this point I would have taken cover and shot him. I mean, I’m glad everything worked out O.K. But if someone pointed a gun at me while in their car, and then proceeded to get out of their car w/ gun in hand, I would have popped them as soon as they exited their car.

Even though in the end he only had a BB Gun. I would have probably done the same thing.

I don't take a Gun pointed at me lightly, I take that as a threat on my life and would have reacted to that threat.
