Suggestions where to stay and shoot?

So I live in Utah. Parents live in California. We're going to meet up halfway and I'm going to drop off some **** and have them take it to my storage. They have a couple of my handguns over there and they've been wanting to learn how to use it, because, California. Since they're really nervous around them, and they know how comfortable I am with them as well as the training I've had, they want ME to teach them. So I was wondering if some of you guys and gals might be able to suggest a place for us to stay. I guess the most middle area while not being in CA is going to be around the Nipton area. Do you have any suggestions where I should stay around there and shoot? I've been trying to find an actual gun range but they all seem to be around Las Vegas and we really don't want to stay there. So if we stay around Nipton, we're pretty much going to have to shoot in BLM land right? I was hoping to have a range so we can take the gun apart, clean it, yada yada yada and have nice targets to shoot and whatnot. Are we kind of out of luck unless they have to drive all the way to Las Vegas?

Lmao I didn't think I was going to get a reply so I decided not to edit. But yea, I told them I won't stay in CA and didn't realize that town was in CA until I looked it up. Possibly will stay in Jean. But still no ranges for 30 miles. I don't think Primm has a range either.

You're just gonna have to go out in the desert and shoot. Just bring some stands or weigh down a box with rocks or something. The county range is only 45 minutes over the border, lol.

Yea that's what I've been telling them. I just thought an actual range would be a little more comfortable with them even though I've shot with them a little in USFS areas in Flagstaff, AZ. Also a range that sells ammo and targets and a place to take apart the gun and clean it would be better to but there's always alternatives to that. I'll have to see what sloan has to offer in terms of the terrain. I'm sure I'll find a place to shoot there.

I hope you're not meeting in NV just because of the shooting event. There are plenty of ranges in CA and it's lawful to shoot on BLM land.

Well I wouldn't see why it would be a big deal anyways but no, that's not the reason. 1, I don't want to drive all the way into California even though where we're staying is fairly close to the border. 2. I will always have my gun on me. I don't want to travel to CA, put it away, lock it up, then go shooting, lock it up again, drive over the border and take it out. **** CA gun laws. I won't go anywhere if I can't carry my gun on me. 3. Communist California sucks. I don't ever want to go into that state again. 4. I'm giving them a bunch of stuff to put in my storage unit back home because I'm going to be moving and can't carry all of it with me.

Hope this satisfies you. I'm a gun advocate and I don't care to travel into a state that doesn't accept my CCW permit or doesn't allow me to open carry. If they're anti-gun they're anti-me. But anyways, we've decided to go to a range in LV so they will feel more comfortable shootin.

DANGER, WILL ROBINSON!

The People's Republic of California has universal background check and waiting period schemes for any firearms transfer. If your parents bring you your toys (that is, restore your personal property to your possession), that's perfectly legal, but they may not take back back possession without going through the administrative proctology.

In addition, any handgun which isn't on the Fascist-Approved Handgun list, or any firearm which IS on the Scary-Looking Guns list, MAY NOT be "re-imported" into the People's Republic once it has been taken out of the state.

Therefore, it would be a good idea to not make public posts asking how to do these things, or where you might be found WHILE you do them. ;)
