We are about to have a vacant K Mart here in Sanford, hold it here. I am sure there are vacant store buildings in the Greensboro area. The Mayor should just go pro create herself.

If it happens, I will be sure to attend. Just for the head count. Even though I am 115 or so miles north of there. Anyone want to ride with me?

To these people the gun is evil. They imagine it to be a deadly item all by itself so the very presence of guns is enough to send them scurrying and panicking like lost children. Besides the idiots with tasers gun shows always seem safe to me.

it was thought preemption would have prevailed when State Dir of AG pushed his inane mentality on no firearms at NC’s state fair several years back ~ it didn’t! ...
Because the state fair is neither a county or municipality?

If so, it seems that NC needs broader (and stronger?) preemption.

remember this is the state where the State's Supreme court stated the legislature was guilty of gerrymandering and to revise the state's electoral districts appropriately, for at least the fourth time in about 6 years. oh they still haven't resolved the last redistricting to the courts satisfaction.

exemptions such state fair and other nonsense is nickle, dime antics and low on the priority list.

thanks for finding a viable link...tis appreciated...

enjoy your snow...

The rhetoric continues in Geensboro regarding the gun show scheduled in Aug:

news2 quote: The City Council has been in talks for months over what can be done locally to address gun violence, especially after the mass shooting at a Parkland, Florida High School. At the City Council meeting Tuesday night, they opened their conversation to neighbors to hear what the community thinks should be done.

"The Greensboro City Council should do everything in it's power to ensure the safety of its city, which means canceling the Gun and Knife show. We all know it's true. Big guns are for people with small minds," another speaker said.

But while the council can't cancel the show, they can decide where the proceeds will go.

At the meeting, City Council voted to give all proceeds from this year's Gun and Knife Show to the Greensboro Police Departments' Gun Stoppers program. The program aims to get illegal guns of the street. unquote.

shame they voted to put the show's proceeds towards a venue which has no public accountability oversight of how it will be spent!
