I just heard on the radio that the Williamson County Sheriff's Dept. is offering a free handgun training course saturday in Herrin Illinois. I was told it consists of 3 hours of classroom and 4 hours of range time. When I called to register only 5 or 6 people had. They asked for my phone number in case there weren't enough people to have the class. I don't think you need to be a Williamson County resident. The non-emergency number is 618-997-6541 push 7 for administration. It will start at the 911 office in the Herrin city hall 300 N. Park st.

I just got home and had a message that the class has been canceled. I called the deputy in charge of the class and he said they need at least 8 to have the class and will take a maximum of 16. He said they will advertize the class again and probably have it October 23 if enough people register.

There will be a free basic handgun class in Herrin, Illinois on October 30. If anyone is interested let me know. I've got 7 people lined up, they need 8 for a class.
