Over the pass week made 3 stops at Walmart each time picked up 3 each 100 rd boxes of Super X 32 gr, 40 gr, and CCI 40gr.
When I left today they still had 5 100 boxes CCI and a lot of the Super X mixed 32 and 40 gr.
Hopefully it will stay this way and the prices start to fall.
These were 7.47 to 8.40 a box.

This is what we found in Yuma Az. Wal-mart.

http://gunwatch.blogspot.com/2017/02/22-at-yuma-walmart-in-2017.html

I have been monitoring the local WalMart to see if the .22 bubble shows any sign of deflating. A heavy winter visitor presence has returned to Yuma. I have not seen any .22 long rifle in WalMart for months.

This afternoon was different. I stopped at the store, and made my usual inspection of the ammunition counter. There were thousands of .22 LR cartridges for sale, most of them in bulk packs. Bulk packs are the preferred purchase of people who are buying the ammunition for resale, or simply to stock up. All of the .22 ammunition there was Winchester, except for a few CCI shot shells.

isn't quite interesting that after being told initially and ensuing years by manufacturers, those in the know, etc., filtered through the infamous and numerous blogs, there was no way the ammo shortage would be mitigated unless manufacturers went to 3 shifts, or put in new equipment, ad nauseam...

lo and behold a miracle of biblical proportions has occurred... there is now a gluttony of reasonably priced 22 ammo on the shelves...

(tho wondering who the pope will name for canonization for patron saint as a result of this miraculous miracle which has blessed America's shooting world)

me thinks that rubin in Denmark is getting riper.

I wouldn't call what we saw a gluttony of 22rf. yes it is coming back.

Before the craze the local wal-mart would have a couple dozen 550 packs on the shelve day after day at $9.99

I brought 10 thousand rounds two months before Sandy hook off the shelve.

I haven't brought a round since normally would have shot that up in less then 2 years I still have some left.

I shoot home cast center fire reloads cheaper now days then I can buy 22rf for.

It is nice to know that peoples stock piles are getting full it well allow for the price to fall faster.

Estate sales could be very fun in the next decade.

the next gen won't want moldy & corroded ammo ~ remember it is the women who survive and in rare exceptions don't care about upkeep of the shooting sports equipment and necessary accessories.
