Secret Service agent wounded in triple shooting at mall food court in Annapolis, Md.

Money quote:

Ray Leone, manager of the Borders Books & Music across from the food court, said he heard at least 10 gunshots, and dozens of people ran into his store in a panic.

“It’s really not very normal, way out of the commonplace,” he said.

I saw an earlier article about this and then found this one when I decided to post it. This is why I open (or sometimes conceal carry in malls in Virginia which allow firearms.) I don't think I would have intervened in a fight, but this Secret Service Agent deserves thanks for trying to stop a fight which looks like it became attempted murder. Wow!

Maryland's anti-gun freedom laws also convince me not to shop in Maryland anymore. What's the point of having a CHP if you can't take it with you across the river, so I stay in Virginia for my shopping.

That is true. It is alot safer to shop in virginia, unless of course you are a criminal shopping for victims. Have you ever been to a mall called St. Charles Town Center? You should go up there on a friday or saturday night, its awesome, all of the DC residents come down... Theres gang activity, fights, stabbings, shootings, assaults, robbery, fights involving bats pipes clubs etc, car jackings, auto theft... I was on a Christmas break period home and there was a really bloody fist fight in front of the Old Navy on the lower level, blood everywhere. They've had a driveby on the front main enterance of the mall, and its practically a open air drug market. Definately a great place to shop, a place where everyone here would want to take their friends and relatives! If you think that mall is awesome, you should go to some other malls, like PG Plaza, Landover Mall, and Iverson (some of those maybe shut down). Another thing I find amusing is they have the Simon Mall Security Guards posted, who ride around in their amber light decked out security vehicles, and stand post unarmed ready in a moments notice to become the victims themselves. They wear their pressed out white shirts and black slacks with the dress shoes and the campaign cover style hats, overall having ZERO deterrent against the criminal racket that is operating up there. Thank God for Malls of America security guards, its good to know that if something bad happens to me, they will be willing to respond to the incident and gladly become a victim as well. I once did see a police chase that started in the mall parking lot, and was led down US 301 towards Virginia by a mall security vehicle until the County Mounties could catch up. Impressive huh?
