Vote was tonight. Shelby County Fiscal Court voted 8-0 to accept the resolution. The County Judge/Exec. wrote the resolution himself and it was absolutely stirring and stunning. It brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait to get a copy and have it framed to hang it on the wall. It was eloquent. I will post it as soon as possible. The courtroom was packed. I talked to the Judge on Friday, at the rally in Franfort, and he told me he was going to have seating for 100 at the meeting. It wasn't enough. People standing everywhere. It was a great night.

I'm sincerely curious. When Ky counties started 2A reolutions you stated you didnt understand why as in your opinion they were not enforceable and meaningless. That effort would be much better directed toward passing a law putting teeth in preemption so KC3 wouldn't have to work so hard.

Now that Shelby county went 2A sanctuary the resolution brought a tear to your eye?

Genuinely curious do you support 2A sanctuary county resolutions, or still consider them meaningless?

They are meaningless when they are taken one at a time or even a few at once. However the mere bulk of, now 103, counties passing such meaningless resolutions cannot be ignored by our state legislators. I doubt it will deter any of the democrat gun-grabbers but it will certainly make it harder to gather co-sponsors and votes, which was already substantially hard to come by. It would also provide cover for those willing to introduce any pro-gun legislation or repeal of current RESTRICTIONS on gun owners. They are certainly a clear expression of the "will of the people" delivered in such numbers that they cannot be ignored.

You can see the Shelby County resolution here:

When I heard our County Judge/Exec. reading this in our old Circuit Courtroom (that is now the Fiscal Courtroom), where I have seen much injustice over the years, I became very emotional.
I have seen about 35 of these things from different counties. This is by far the best of the lot and it was delivered in a loud, clear, unyielding voice. Our Judge/Exec. is a Viet Nam combat veteran and I think he got a little choked up, too.

Yep. That was the idea, though myself I'd rather have seen ordinance based on the 2A as written.

But, some county has to be first and so on.

Thanks for the explanation.

103 counties out of 120? Excellent! Well done Kentucky!
We're not finished. Several still in the works. Jeffereson Co. (Louisville) is a problem. Hardin Co. refused (dems. in charge). Fayette is tough but talking. We'll get more. It will just take more work. Some are just getting started. This has all been accomplished since Dec. 1st. Most County's Courts only meet twice a month, some once. You don't get many opportunities to talk to them.
