Revs. Jackson and Pfleger Arrested at Rally Anti-Gun Rally in South Suburbs Asks For Stricter Laws to Ban Purchase of Guns

RIVERDALE, Ill. Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr., led protesters in an anti-gun rally in front of Chuck’s Gun Shop, 14310 S, Indiana Ave., Riverdale, Ill. Saturday afternoon, only to get arrested by police in the process.

Jackson and Pfleger have since been released by Riverdale Police by 4 p.m.

Jackson was placed in custody by Riverdale Police with fellow marcher and activist Rev. Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina Church. The group of people were calling for the Chicago Police department to have surveillance on the gun shops that boarder the city.

A longtime advocate of tougher gun laws, Jackson and Rainbow PUSH Coalition constituents are demanding new laws to ban the purchase of more than one gun a month, as well as mandating thorough background checks and a longer wait time to buy guns.

“The police watch the people who come into town with fireworks from Indiana, why can’t they watch who’s buying these guns and bringing them into the city,” Jackson said. “We have never known this level of endangerment, this is the struggle of this generation.”

One weekend ago, Jackson and Pfleger led another march to the same gun shop, which started at Park Elementary School on the 14200 block of South Wentworth Avenue, and were joined by Chicago police officer Ronald Holt, father of slain 16-year-old Percy Julian High School honor student Blair Holt.

OK, this is obviously a job for "mad dogs and Englishmen", as the old song says!

I will say here what many people feel, but prefer not to say.

Jackson is a racist and a bigot, who siezes on past ills suffered by blacks in the USA, and blames every one and anything for their plight.

If law abiding folks in this PRI could pack defensive weaponry, thugs, hooligans and"gangsta niggas"(their own words, not mine) would behave in a far more circumspect way.

Bugging the crap out of gun dealers will not solve any problems, and Jackson is once again posturing to keep himself in the public eye. He represents no one but himself.

Thank you, Sir,and welcome to OCDO.

I was professional huntsman to a nice pack of American-bred foxhounds near Spencer IN for two seasons, and have many fond memories of your home State.
