There's a quote I've seen bouncing around the internet those goes something like this:

"25 States allow anyone to buy a gun, strap it on, and walk down the street with no permit of any kind: some say it's crazy. However, four out of five US murders are committed in the other half of the country: so who's crazy?"
-- Andrew Ford

Does anyone know where this came from? Who Andrew Ford is? Is it accurate? Are there any credible sources to back it up? Thanks.

Tried looking around for about two hours so far on the Internet. Haven't found anything conclusive yet. That's why I've turned to the collective wisdom of the forum readers.

"The price of liberty is, always has been, and always will be blood: The person who is not willing to die for his liberty has already lost it to the first scoundrel who is willing to risk dying to violate that person's liberty! Are you free?" - Andrew Ford
