Considering Dorner Police one should be careful not to play that game. It shouldn't affect OC anymore than all the murders committed by CC permit holders have affected concealed carry. IOW not much to see here.

This has nothing do with OC per se, it has to do with an individual who clearly had issues from what we can see. PoliceOne trolls are simply using his alleged open carry as a blunt tool to try and keep law abiding citizens from carrying for self protection. Oh & in MI it is legal to OC other firearms besides a pistol. See City of Birmingham v. Combs. Sounds like dating a cops daughter probably got him extra special attention from his local PD too. Sad for all effected.

PS - I suspect the PPD is poorly trained if they can't understand that their local ordinances on carrying of fireamrs are voided by MI preemption. See MCL 123.1102. Funny how this was posted in their GUN LEGISLATION - LE section??? Can anyone say "agenda"...

The statement is believed to have committed suicide after shooting his girl friend and report of domestic disturbance. I personally want a whole lot more information then what those reports give. Considering the amount of "strange" deaths that are being labeled suicide or such leaves me in the position of to little info is being given and it is being given with a specific spin and backing. Since when has the MSM become honest? Conspiracy, don't know and will not give an opinion until further disclosure of information is made available. To the family of the young lady I give my prayers and hope that they can find healing of the hurt somewhat.

Other then that I see more of the don't let a opportunity go to waste, by those who wish to violate the constitution. -Michael

I'm not on police one, but I have read their forum. They are ultra fascist, not for me. IMO police including myself put our pants on the same as everybody else. Hopefully someone with a level head will point out to them that they have many more skeletons in the closet than LAC do. Just having a officer go on a killing spree, and the shooting of two innocent women just for starters.

How unfortunate the young lady died, an unnecessary death. I hope the family of the young lady recovers well and follows through with the prosecution of the guy.

The officer has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of an internal investigation, Duncan said.

Having been an OC activist since 08' and an MOC Inc. member since it's inception in 09', I know of no one in MI OC community who've mentioned this guy or this incident, or read about it on the MCRGO(Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners), MOC Inc. web sites. It seems a stretch to call him an OC activist unless they consider anyone who has done anything OC related an "activist"! Their use of words IS OBVIOUSLY an attempt to shed bad light on Article 1 Sec.6 of the MI Constitution, which states "Every Person Has The Right to Keep And Bear Arms For The Defense Of Himself And The State(consisting of The Citizens)"! We've been training PDs in MI, since 09', on Our OC Rights and State Firearm Laws via Lawsuits,Court appearances(district,Federal,Appeals etc.) and Free Presentations and Seminars! Most PDs have been accepting and civil, some stubborn and obstinate! This is a much rarer incident(as far as anything OC/CC) than the number of murders and violent crimes committed by LEOs as a FACT! We in the MI 2A community will continue to fight for ALL The Citizens Rights despite the wrongheaded opinions of the Ignorant and those who DO NOT Understand TRUTH And Rights! CARRY ON!
