Sounds like a nice plan. In 5.56? There are some great choices for midlength barrels. Are you going to build all of it or are you looking for a complete upper with those specs?

EBR? Oh, I get it. Evil Black Rifle. LOL. Looks like a great project. Hey, maybe that's just the ticket for sneaking another one in under the nose of SWMBO*.

Looks like fun :)

Will you be going with an A2 iron site?

If so, do you know if it will interfere with the optics?
A carbine length gas system w/ a 10" rail would not be compatible with an A2 front sight post. The rail would have to be no more than 7". I specifically chose a stripped barrel because I planned on running an optic and don't want sights in my optic at all. However, to answer your question, an A2 would give a center or lower 1/3co-witness with an unmagnified optic such as an Aimpoint or Eotech depending on the mount. No idea what would happen with magnified optics.

Wow, David, that is a very low serial number! Gotta love that unmistakable mega finish.
That is just a stock photo. Mine is around 150 or so. But they were made only for one distributor (JC Weaponry) and I believe originally was started on SigForum.com (hence the SF in the serial number).

Got it about 14-15 months ago now for around $130.

Oh, okay, that's still low. I like the no-logo, very clean. But I've been a fan of the Mega logo from the first time I saw it. Way better than the Spikes Tactical "spider." Blech.

I simply wont have time to take good pictures for probably a couple weeks so here are some living room pictures so you guys can see what she looks like. I have no pictures from before I RAN HER HARD so she's got some scuffs and scratches. :D All part of the beauty! I could not be more happy about how this gun runs, I think I did darn good for a first build. And now that I have some experience with her I've made a little shopping list of accessories to come soon (feel free to weigh in on my choices):
-A high quality quick-detach vertical foregrip like LaRue's FUG or the Tangodown Stubby VFG.
-Troy 2-point sling and sling mounts
-Rail covers, probably larue index clips, I'm open to ideas here.
-LaRue offset 1" quick-detach light mount holding a Fenix (not sure on model yet)

This last picture has me thinking about chopping her to 14.5 and pinning a FH. thoughts?
Sorry about the quality of these, I officially promise better pictures by the end of the month. :)

So who wants to shoot her? :D :D :D Gravel pit meet?

Just a suggestion, but if you are going to run both a light and a VFG get a pressure switch.
