Saw that.... Pretty awesome if you ask me... but obviously they were trying to make is sound like what it was: us making a profit from those that want to destroy the firearms :) :) :)

It will piss people off.. but what is new?

Well I consider it "defunding the anti's" not "turning a profit". SMILE

A friend turned in junkers that he paid a total of $240 for....and pulled $900 of their $6,000 worth of gift cards. I pulled another $250 myself for a $50 "investment".

So just TWO of us took away 20% of their cards.....and they got garbage.

There were a lot of patriots turning in garbage. And this time they screwed up and paid $25 for a 30 round mag.....they paid for 95 mags...... That's another $2,375 of their funding GONE (to buy garbage mags and mags that can be bought brand new for substantially less than $25.

I noticed article was from a Fox News 'Junior Reporter Program' member. Guess Murdoch/Ailes trying to skirt either a) Complaints that Fox interns s/b paid - otherwise discriminate against minorities that cannot afford to volunteer, or b) they are just cheap.

You keep calling it this. Why?

In Oregon a recent law pushed by the anti's defines a "gun show" as any place where 25 or more firearms are "available for transfer". ORS 166.423(2)(b)

So, since a gun buyback has more than 25 guns available for transfer, it is a "gun show" by definition of Oregon law.

Then, ORS 166.438 requires a criminal background check to be performed, on a state police produced form and through the state police, for firearms transferred at a "gun show". That form must be maintained by the transferor for a period of five years. The ONLY exception given is if the firearm is transferred TO an FFL.

Then, ORS 166.438(3) requires that a person who organizes a "gun show" must post the requirements to use the form and conduct the background check, as well as provide the form. ORS 166.438(5)(a) makes violation a Class A Misdemeanor for the first two offenses and 166.(5)(b) makes it a Class C Felony on the third and subsequent offenses.

As the organizers of the buyback expected more than 25 guns (they had over $6,000 in gift cards) and, in fact, more than 25 guns were transferred they took in 138 guns), they violated the law thus making it an ILLEGAL GUN SHOW.

In addition, they exposed every person turning in a firearm to Misdemeanor and/or Felony charges as the requirement to do the paperwork is placed upon the transferor in ORS 166.438(1) and (2).

Of course the police didn't enforce the law as they were in on the buyback themselves. So if you or I sponsor an illegal gun show, it's likely we'd be prosecuted, but they simply ignore the law. Personally, I think it would make a good argument in defense that the law is not applied equally to all.....14th amendment violation.

That should answer your question.

Took the "not a functioning firearm" (as declared by Newport PD) Hello Kitty shotgun out and shot it today. Works just fine and I have video of it obliterating a 1 gallon water jug.....will post when it's edited and uploaded.

Found that the Mossberg 185A needs a new extractor and the Model 11 definitely needs some cleaning/lubing/tuning but they shot.

One pistol fired just fine, the other misfired on one round....will be cleaning and tuning it and retrying asa well.

The good news is that the general public is indeed much safer as a result of the buy back program, now that at least some of those firearms are in the hands of the fine, upstanding men and women of OCDO instead of in the hands of the blithering idiots who bought into the buy back propaganda.
