The point is not keeping the business owner in the dark while carrying, but it would be to keep other 'gun-phobic' customers from knowing that there are guns in the house. When Nappy vetoed the 'restaurant carry' legislation a couple of years ago, one of her reasons was due to 'concerns of property owners, including the owners of bars and restaurants that would be adversely affected by this bill. ' As a business(restaurant/bar) owner, I could see them being worried about either driving away gunnies if I posted a 'no-guns allowed' sign or driving away other customers if guns were allowed and people were open carrying. Concealed carry only or at least as an option for the business owner wouldn't be perfect, but maybe a step in the direction of getting rid of that stupid 'restaurant' law.
I wonder if Nappy is just more 'anti-open carry' than anything as per her comments when she vetoed the bill to adjust how open carry is determined. I believe her comment was something along the lines of 'if you want to carry a gun, get a permit', maybe hoping that if you have a CCW, you're more likely to carry concealed.
I know there are other issues with 'restaurant carry', just thought something like this might take care of part of it.
