Sure. Get a good holster, put it on a good belt, put the sig in the holster, put the sig, holster and belt around your waist and walk out the door.

The restriction is you will not carry a handgun in public until you are 21 years old or with a parent or guardian. http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2923.21v1

Also see 18 USC 922(x)

Open carrying a handgun between 18 and 21 can be a sticky-wicket.

If the gun was a gift or obtained by inheritance can effect the situation.

A careful reading of both cites by color of law will show that there is no prohibition against *possession* of a handgun by someone 18 or older but not yet 21 - the issue, in Ohio at least, is that there are only a couple of ways for someone between 18 & 21 to legally acquire a handgun - see ORC 2923.21 (B), or of course if the handgun was legally acquired while a resident of another state before becoming a resident of Ohio. Note that gifts from parents or other relatives are *not* an exception to the prohibition in Ohio against furnishing a handgun to someone under 21.

So, if legally acquired you can legally open carry the handgun, but be prepared for interactions with law enforcement.

There is no Ohio case law addressing this issue, ORC 2923.21.

Let me add a link.

to assist in any interaction with nice LE(s), might i suggest you take an NRA basic pistol as well as a ohio conceal course, two formal courses...to show the nice LEs you are not a smart arse punk kid, but in fact a budding young adult becoming a productive citizen who understands their responsibility towards viable gun ownership by participating in firearm education from qualified instructors. (please learn that statement to recite to the nice LEs for your recording of any incidents!)

carry photocopies of certs w/you at all times to show when asked for ‘identification’ please!

as they say...carry on lad & welcome to the forum...

What crime would the kind officer charge the young man with. The most the officer could do is ask for ID, and that showing him to be over 17 would remove reasonable suspicion.

of course CoL, we all know the nice LE would treat a young adult with the same common courtesy they would extend to a beaten up wisen adult citizen open carrying a handgun, nor would they ever misspeak the truth to a yound adult either!

oh, why had the nice LE stop the youthful carrier again?

I offer the opportunity daily for a LEO to stop me for OCing in legal circumstances.

I am still being denied!..:p

Above, I said there was no case law. I was incorrect as it relates to ORC 2923.21(A)(3).
(3) Furnish any firearm to a person who is under eighteen years of age or, subject to division (B) of this section, furnish any handgun to a person who is under twenty-one years of age, except for lawful hunting, sporting, or educational purposes, including, but not limited to, instruction in firearms or handgun safety, care, handling, or marksmanship under the supervision or control of a responsible adult;
There are 5 cases that mention ORC 2923.21(A)(3). Only three that actually address 2923.21(A)(3).

State v. Skaggs, 97 Ohio App. 3d 15 - Ohio: Court of Appeals 1994 - State failed to prove the parent furnished a firearm to a minor.

State v. Slater, 2007 Ohio 3628 - Ohio: Court of Appeals, 5th Appellate Dist. 2007 - Mother convicted of furnished a firearm to her son and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

One case was an adult furnished their underage cousin a firearm in robbing a pharmacy.

If someone 18 or over legally openly carrying a holstered handgun is stupid enough to talk to the cops about how he/she acquired the firearm should not be carrying.

no HP, et al., but how many young hooligans who might carry have documentation to show to police they are properly trained in safety, handling, and the laws of deadly force in their own state.

as stated, if this young adult wants to carry, if this young adult wants to mitigate defending themselves from assertive, overly zealous nice LE(s) who is/are being a bully who wants to play twenty questions to hassle the young OC'g individual which could lead to a youthful misstep, comment, etc., and yet a bit of preemptive education and carrying objective evidence of same might take the wind out of the bully...

why the devil not!
